Secret rest area in 5A Spoiler Just down the stairs to 5A, move 1 step forward. On the right is a hidden switch. Pressing this will reveal a short corridor to a teleport opposite. The teleport will take you to a rest area. The only one that I am aware of that does not require a gold key. It is close by to a conduit making it easy to get rest.
This has happened to me as well - I think it was a result of hitting the "map" button halfway through a turn. I'm only about an hour into the game, so not as big a deal for me to start over, BUT this is a game-breaker IMO. I'll likely give it one more go, and if it happens again, I'm done.
Wow!! I started a new custom attributes party in the third save slot (and no save in the second save slot) and played around for a bit before saving. Have not made it to 2a yet. Now, when I load the game, the controls forward, backward, step left, and step right controls work backwards. More importantly, they ignore boundaries. So if my back is to a wall and I try to go forward, the game will walk me backwards throught the wall!! WOW!! I am using the traditional controls, but switching to gestures has the same result. Also, turning does work correctly. Time to get to those sealed offf areas on level 1!!! Edit: Cleared out when I went to 2a. Fun while it lasted!
1.3 where are you hiding? Are Apple on a go slow?? I'm waiting to get my teeth into this game and waiting for this update Gaz
Level 14b Okay, Level 14b, I cannot find the key to get through the door in the room with the second block. I have gone all the way to the blue door and the dead end corridor with the two pressure plates. Also the automap marking are not in the correct locations. Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Help! Been looking for a game similar to Legend of Grimrock for awhile, great! But I'm stuck at the start! I've spoken to the girl at the Inn, and grabbed gear from the two rooms that open. But I've explored everywhere and can't find out where to go to get into the dungeon itself. Haven't found her sister in the shop that she mentioned either. Help!
Trying out 1.3 Started a new game with a brand new party. Thought the mapping would be improved to highlight some of the other things in the dungeons such as pools, altars etc. Seems just like the original map (have only gone to level 3 so far) so a bit disappointing. I did try one of earlier save games and I got stuck. I couldn't move. I tried to activate the conduit rod but it said that I hadn't activated a conduit on that level. I exited the game and started it again and that appeared to fix the movement problem. Anyway I though I would mention it in passing. Being able to annotate the map would have been a big help even without any more markers would have been a big step forward. Ah well, maybe in 1.4.
Raising the floor in purple teleports room Really enjoying the game but I am now well and truely stuck. I am trying to raise the floor in the room with all the purple teleports. I think it has something to do with a secret switch my Rogue detected in the spikes/quick room? Am I on the right track? If not, which direction should I go? All help greatly appreciated. I have been running around in circles for some time now...
Simple question, what's the orange bar next to the green hunger bar, energy? It very low, what raises it? Thanks GaZ
Figured it out. In case others are stuck: Spoiler You need to use the teleports to get to the other side of the room where you will find the switch to raise the floor.
For a long, long time I've yearned for a game that would recreate the Dungeon Master experience - in Coldfire Keep I have finally found it. Big thanks to Steve and the team - not only for the game itself, but also for listening to and acting on the feedback of the people playing the game that post here.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I don't think that ANY game will ever come close to that amazing Dungeon Master feel, but I'm glad that Coldfire Keep is at least nostalgic enough to get you thinking that way I actually bought myself an old Amiga 500 this past weekend to replay Dungeon Master "properly"... I'm busy working on the next dungeon crawler which will hopefully be one step closer to capturing that old feeling. Also, I submitted v1.4 of Coldfire Keep yesterday (or maybe the day before). v1.4 is nothing but additional memory optimisations to help players who are experiencing crashes when running on 512MB devices. For now, if you are experiencing any crashes when loading levels, the best first step is to fully power off your device and power it back on - this means holding down the power button and doing the "slide to power off".
And again, apologies to anyone who's run up against bugs. iOS in particular is a finicky beast when it comes to software of this size and complexity - especially when it's all being coded by one person. Plus, there's also the fact that I'm just a dummy a lot of the time.
