Does it have a hunger system? And if so, can you turn it off? I played Descend RPG twice and both time I had to restart my game because I "painted myself in a corner". I know the developer refused to do anything about it so I'm a bit worry this time. Same with a mapping system, sorry but I'm not drawing my own map.
This looks awesome but it's sad to see some posts here. ..won't play without automap ...want hunger turned off. The modern day gamer makes me facepalm at times, even when a gem like this turns up, ppl want it dumbed down more and more
Fair enought, I just don't like playing RPGs with a time limit, or having to restart from the start just because I screwed myself over and ran out of food. I'm 37 BTW, and I played all those games, dungeon master, eye of the beholder, lands of lore.... never had a problem and never had to restart. It's really not that hard to have a toggle switch for hunger on/off so that everybody is happy and can play the game the way they want to play it. With that being said, I won't get the game if it has a time limit (hunger) and that's too bad because the game looks really good.
You guys should read the upcoming thread, especially the hunger system of Coldfire Keep, before talking. I even remember the dev stated that you might be able to switch the hunger system on/off.
I personally don't see hunger as being a timer.. Really It's realism, and if you keep a stash of food, there's never really any issues, but if I run out of food then that's hard luck, I'll try again.
Totally agree. Carl Sagan predicted our modern society pretty well. People are just becoming dumb and lazy.
If by try again you mean delete your save and restart from the begining then... that's what I did, twice. Maybe some gamers enjoy the extra challenge of trying not to get stuck and not being able to proceed but that's not really for me. There's hunger system and there's poorly balanced hunger system, nobody should have to restart a 10+ hour RPG just because you're out of food. There's nothing dumb or lazy about that, do people still ride horses because cars are too easy and simple to use?!
Yes please, anyone who has downloaded and played it please post your feedback for us salivating dungeoneers!
Hey all - yes, as someone mentioned, there was a lot of discussion of food/water systems in the Upcoming thread. I these these posts best sum things up: I'm excited that the game is starting to show up in more App Stores! Looking forward to hearing more feedback from everyone.
So you can't run out of food completly? No more restarting the game from the beginning? Sold! Thank you for listening, you got my money!
