Hi all. Got stuck at level 5a - can't find a silver key. It seems I found everything but the silver key... What did I miss?
You just made my day - was hoping someone would notice that Spoiler Have you completed the "Quick!" area? No - 4S and above on iPhone. The 4 does not support 4096 textures which Coldfire requires.
One further update, we're STILL waiting on Apple to review and approve v1.1. Hopefully it won't be much longer, but it's totally out of our control unfortunately.
Question and a bug Hello. I'm enjoying the game so far. I like it quite a bit except for mostly the same reasons others have already stated. I have a question about level 13 which if someone can help it would be really appreciated, and also a bug to report (sorry!) The bug: I bought a fishing tackle. Didn't pick it up right away since I got distracted from the game and when I got back teleported away before I realized I hadn't picked up the tackle. I returned, and here is where the bug happened: I can see the fishing tackle and it has the yellow sparkling light. However, I cannot pick it up no matter how often I tap it. Even worse, it doesn't even have the yellow words identifying its name like it happens with all other objects. I have tried picking it up in the regular screen and also looking down and trying to pick it up in that screen. Additionally, once I saved 75 gp again I bought another one to see if maybe the bug only happened with the first. No luck. The second appeared above the first and shows the same symptons: its name does not appear and I cannot pick it up. The question: I am sorry if I am asking a rather silly and obvious question. It is related to level 13. The room with the 8 switches and the "opposites opposite" clue. I've been trying a number of combinations and no luck. I "solved" the previous "opposites opposite" puzzle, but I think I solved it by luck and not logic since when I try to apply the same notions in level 13 I fail miserably. Normally I wouldn't annoy anyone with this, but this puzzle has really bested me horrendously. (Are the four switches *outside* the room, by the wall, related to this puzzle? Are we supposed to find two pairs of switches that are opposite to each other and each pair opposite to the other like in the previous puzzle?) Thank you for any help and apoligies for the lenghty post.
That one is really odd - I'll look into it. The items you buy from the vendor behave just like any other item once they're created into the world. Not sure off the top of my head what might be causing that weird behaviour. Re the other question: Spoiler The opposites opposite puzzles just mean that a switch on the North wall (for example) needs to be the opposite setting to it's matching switch on the South wall (the switch "opposite" it). So if one is up, the other must be down. In the case of 13, this includes the switches outside the room that you can see through the metal bars.
Anyone figured out the secret in the northeast of 7a? I've completed the level but there's a ration in there taunting me
@stevejarman Thank you very much for the answer. Boy was I looking at it from the wrong perspective! Lol. The fishing tackles are the only items that have behaved this way. No problem picking everything else up. @Torn I'm at level 13 and haven't found a way there. If I do, I'll come back and post it. I'm beginning to think that area may be a red herring.
@stevejarman *** potential spoilers *** Few more potential issues I've thought of... -what if you unlock the room with the bed on floor 6, go inside, pull the lever to close the door, then use the teleport rod? Will you essentially re-lock the room? I don't want to try it since it auto saves... lol -an annotation of where teleport squares connect to would be helpful -the puzzle on 8d with the opposites only works with them alternating down, up, etc. from their initial position. It seems possible to have the switches mixed up then forget what position they started in, making the puzzle potentially much more frustrating -perhaps it should be impossible to continue to take damage from starving if you are currently fishing
Potentially - yes, you can lock yourself out of gold key areas if you teleport out of them with the door closed. Not really a bug, oversight, etc - more just a "tough-luck" situation Not completely sure what you mean regarding the 8d puzzle, but you might be misinterpreting what that puzzle is about. Well, sorry!
Floor 4 is a red door. You need to find all four colour wheels and set them to red. On level five the door is yellow. The problem for me here is that I have found only 3 colour wheels (which I have set to yellow). I need an extra key(silver) I think to make any progress in 5a.
I am stuck in 5a. I cannot find the silver key. I thought I had completed the "Quick" area. I raced around the outside and activated all the levers. I think I made a target show which I shot with a bow and hit the bulls eye. I did not get a key however. Maybe I thought wrong. In this section there is a set of arrow traps which pop up around one main pillar. I am not sure of the significance of this (unless that is part of the quick puzzle). Any clarification would be appreciated.
Spoiler There are four levers, one in each corner of the room. They reset on a (fairly generous) timer. You have to activate them all to open the middle pillar, where you'll find the key you need.
Haha I was going to compliment you on the 5 1/4" floppy drive save sound Any chance you could make the classic movement keys a little larger for the iphone? I find I keep miss clicking with my big thumbs. Regards
