Yeah, it's pretty straightforward, but the combat is much more complex than this game, and in general, so are the puzzles. That's not to say Coldfire Keep is a bad game, I really like it, but it's not really in the same league as LoG, but this game have only one developer, so I commend him for his work and the results.
Mapping the key spaces - like the inn / store etc is a must if you dont want softcore players giving up early on
I can confirm now that there is a problem with the arrow consumption that I managed to introduce at the 11th hour. It's also been fixed in the v1.1 update that's sitting with Apple right now. I've also added health bars to the enemies (v1.1). I'd had them originally but didn't like them. I must admit that this time around when I added them, I think it definitely made the combat more informative and tactical.
By the way, to anyone that is having issues with the double-tap issue in particular, thanks for being patient. Just hold out until v1.1 gets approved. Shouldn't be too long. Also, to anyone NOT having issues, definitely try out the new One-Tap Pickup option once it's available. It might just be because it's fresh to me, but I actually might like it better than the other method now.
I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered but I'm too impatient to get back to my game to read through all the pages. I've found a 'moveable wall' I think it said, but can see no way to open it, no switches or anything. It's after a corridor of flame traps and before stairs going down. Is there some ability my rogue needs, or a spell for my caster, to open it?
Makes you wonder if they just want the game to play itself huh I know they want a movie they don't want to play a game they want to watch a movie.
Hunger's not a good mechanic anyway, so I'm fine with that loss. Most games that ever used it either made it so minor that it played next to no role or relegated it to nothing more than a dis-incentive to sleeping, of which there are better ways to handle. Automap's are a fine feature but I prefer Etarian Odyssey's approach of only auto-mapping the floor layout, it removes tedium, and forcing me to fill in the blanks. What I'd really like is a system of finding rough maps which you can annotate and argument with new rooms, blocked paths and whatnot as you explore; they could include old notes, puzzles to decifer, codes to break and even faulty layouts.
My game wont show any start menu just "crecsent moon" logo and then a black screen with spinimg ads of a shield. I m running ipod 4 and ios 6.0.1 Can anyone help me?
Unfortunately, the game is not compatible with an iPod 4. As per the description, it's: iPhone 4S or above. iPad 2 or above. iPod 5 or above. This is due to the earlier devices not supporting 4096x4096 textures which Coldfire Keep requires for its interface.
Steve, I have been away most of the day. But I have found another automap graphing error on location 3. Using the conduit on level 3, if you go 5 west, 4 south and 1 west, that location is not showing up on automap and thus makes it look like 2 seperate maps. Tried attaching the photo here but it seems TA doesn't allow me to attach it...
Into my first hour of play and loving the game. My mana is completely down and was wondering if the only way to replenish mana is to sleep at the inn? Thanks for the tip on movable walls! I'm heading back to hunt for hidden buttons. Ran from my first goblin. Not proud of that but I was definitely going to lose that battle.
As far as I'm aware sleeping is the only way to replenish mana at the moment, it would be nice to have potions implemented at some point.
Sorry - can't multi-quote on the app? Anyway, yes - only sleeping early on. Later there is an item you can find that regenerates mana.
Great game, love it. Crashes on my iphone 5 but I'm sure a patch will fix that. Would love to see a scifi setting using the same gameplay. With rovers and dune buggies.
