As far as progression in the rebirth/restart sense, here's a pic to give an idea of how the AP starts to roll in after a while. There's a crapton of achievements, and plenty you'll earn just by checking in every few hours, and some synergize... like using "scrolls self-cast" potions and the game is casting scrolls, which earns you monster kills, scrolls uses, monsters killed by scrolls, etc.
Ok, half way through first run - dont know when it changed but Warrior being left for dust!!! Looking forward to completing first run at some point so I can prestige with a new party # Recommended setup?
Hahaha ok good I'm glad we at least had a consistent experience! Recommended party for best/fastest clear: barb, rogue, Druid, pyro. Recommend second party for getting achievements: barb, priest, necro, rogue. No matter what I'd recommend rogue stays in party until your final character pair unlocks. Final unlock is a pair of summoners, and there's enough pets around if you do both to skip rogue that time. it might not be a bad idea to save ranger and either priest or electro for that playthrough... priest helps keep the party moving and electro adds much needed AoE to the party. But either way you don't have tanks without healers running in front of the wall of pets/summons. I'm about to do a reset and gonna try an all- summoner party and see if it gets me the "redundant party" achievement. Don't make the mistake I did with this playthrough... ALWAYS prestige and start with a new party until you're decently well along.
I got ads to work! Go to phone settings, privacy, advertising, and then click off "limit ad tracking" Also, interesting fun note: my barb outdamages everyone now. He kinda always did, but he dies too much for the first 40 levels or so, so he rated a bit under pyro for me because of how much he slowed runs down. He pairs well with Druid tho, and kills super well. Next game is all CK. Summoner class. Gonna post a pic of it, but I've purposefully not been spoiling that class because it's just a fun thing to stumble on. 5x of him will make for a great screenie tomorrow tho
PSA: In my first playthrough, the achievements wont register although Ive completed at least 10 of them. In my currently ongoing second playthrough, I manage to activate the achievements by exiting the game (via terminating the app through the background apps screen) and reopening the app. Just make sure you save the game with the save button in the settings in case the game doesnt save your data properly when you terminate the app.
That's strange. I didn't get any achievements until I got my firsgame win, then there was a ton of them all at once. Since then they come up,as they are achieved. I hope in an update the dev lets us listen to our own music or podcasts while playing... There are achievements for prestiging with every character, but I am keeping the rogue in every part for his looting...I'm thinking thoug, that it just means he quick swipes everything, not that your party just skips all the loot. Not sure about discovering treasure chests.
First playthrough here. I decided to try this after reading your post and it worked, achievements started working after restarting the app.
Awesome! I read the solution on Reddit so many thanks for the people there for sharing the solution. Luckily for those who are late at activating the achievements, I think the AP gain is retroactive; as the format of the reward is “gain X AP per Y deed” and Y is based on your total data in all playthroughs, those who activated late would see a huge jump in their APs.
How does it work if you don't prestige? Does a button to do so pop up, or does your restart count as a prestige at that point? Close to finishing my third run, and wondering about staying at it longer to get more achievements...
Absolutely prestige. The reward isn't good enough for you yet to play a second round... the AP is nice since you're killing more and longer, but there's serious hardships, like not enough kills. Dungeons cost a fortune and you won't have near enough to advance things. Restart brings you back to pick a new party but not sure it would count a prestige... pretty sure it will but no promises. On gold: it's good for buying scroll upgrades and dungeons once you beat some castles. Dungeons turn into farms which generate kills (the skeleton resource), which is your primary means of advancement. More dungeons = more power.
I'm having a lot of fun with this. It's surprisingly compelling, given how initially there seems to be very little to do. Hang in there, as gets a bit more complex and interesting as you get deeper into it.
Yes, though besides unlocking other characters I’m not clear how it helps speed up following runs.. Another skill point (not sure what this is for) And another inventory slot?
Skill point = you start with an extra skill choice. I've restarted like 7-8 times now and when I restart, I can just about finish a tree for a character. Like this last time, my lvl 1 barb can do full- size hammer smashes, my pyro can do huge fireballs, etc. makes it easy to start with lots of monsters, speeding progression. Inventory space is for each character. They have relatively small backpacks, so the more they can carry, the more they can sell in between dungeons in town. As far the main progression, it comes from AP. I'm generating a fair amount now, with movespeed boosted twice, faster attacks, an extra potion slot, some health regen, etc. games go a LOT quicker now, with none of the horribly slow start that plagued my first 3-4 playthroughs.
I don't really get what we are doing with the skill selection process. It seems like within each of the 4 skills, you have to go in order, so all you do is pick which tree, 1-4, to focus on first? But some skills not learned yet have an icon next to them. So I dont get it.
You pretty much get it. You're just picking what to focus on first. There's ways to optimize tho. Rogue I eventually get the stealth ability, but probably like 10 levels after he's maxed everywhere else, and at the least I'd never grab it until I have enough banked up to grab the spirit regen underneath it Another example is CK: his rogue chickens kinda suck. I get everything but that. And while I might get the "guard chicken" tree last, I snag the top skill in that tree pretty early on since it is +dmg. The icons are active abilities btw. Everything else is passive buffs.
