    Clickjam!

Hopefully this is the right spot to post this if not please slap me on the wrist and send me on my way. We at Clickteam are holding a event this August 18th at several locations world wide, a Game Jam we are calling Clickjam. Basically a create a game within 24 hours affair with the additional caveat you need to use our tool Multimedia Fusion 2. To that end anyone attending gets a free copy of the tool to keep. (A $120.00 U.S. Value). Multimedia Fusion 2 is not just for programmers but for anyone who has aspirations to develop games, the basics of the tool can be taught in under a hour. It uses plain language to program in what we call our event editor. More information on the event can be found here...

  2. So far there aren't any jams in my neck of the woods.. but any fence sitters close to a jam should definitely check it out.. I think Clickteam's products are the next big thing, early adopters rule the world!! - just saying ^_^

I'm in Baltimore. It's tempting to go. Problem is, I'm just an artist/game designer with lofty aspirations. You sure it's easy to learn?

I have personally taught the tool to middle grade school students in about a hour and I use it professionally, SO yes I wholeheartedly believe it is the easiest most flexible tool on the market. So swing by and give it a shot, it's free so you just risking time to go!

Visit our forums for more details and to let us know you might attend...

I may check out the demo to familiarize myself with it but will there be any instruction at the jam?

This is my background too, minimal programming knowledge and I developed the original version of Pocket Ninjas in less than 3 weeks. Can be a very powerful tool once you really get into it, but it also straight forward enough to pick up and run with :)

Cool beans. I've played pocket ninjas before and was surprised that a game like that was developed using this software. Still I'll probably want to spend some time with it before the Jam.

Multimedia Fusion is fantastically easy to use, you'll pick it up in no time! It doesn't require any programming knowledge, instead you can build up powerful games just by choosing plain-language options like "has object left the frame on the right" and so on.

I highly recommend downloading the demo, there is a built in tutorial which takes you through the process of making a break-out style game.

I won't see you there as I'm running the UK ClickJam, but have a great time! :)

  12. Perth Australia, the most isolated city in the world. True story! XD

Yeah, I'll miss seeing you there.

I'm looking forward to going to ClickJam this saturday. I'm gonna download the demo tonight on my laptop and go through the tutorial.
