That tactic won't work very well, because if you mirror your opponent exactly and nothing more, and both players have the same cards at the same levels, then it will just end up in a draw. As you get further in the game, you'll see more card diversity (it will be very unlikely that your opponent will have the same cards as you, and even if they do they will not likely all be at the exact same levels as yours), so this exact mirror tactic is not only pointless, but darn near impossible.
He wasn't mirroring my exact cards (maybe sometimes?). He had cards I didn't have, like the dragon. But he basically sat by and let me send troops over to his side, and only summoned troops if his defenses couldn't take them down fast enough. So basically I'd watch my troops march over to the other side and die, then be a sitting duck when he summoned his troops and my defenses weren't strong enough. I tried to follow the same tactic, but then we just sat and stared at each other again until I made a move. So yeah, he was winning, but it was dull as f***.
I'm having complete differently time. Only two games games over the last year and half have kept me entertained longer than 24 hours this and crashlandings. It's got a tremendous amount of strategy... And when implemented it's a thrill... Almost reminds me of the board game stratego!
That's so true!! Now it seems everyone just sits there and can never make the first move. I hope supercell makes changes towards a more offensive game or I'm most likely done too... Soooo stupid and boring
I think that was a server issue. They took it down shortly for maintenance. Edit: still happening though.
So I've been purposefully keeping myself from unlocking the third arena to prevent unlocking more card types. This way I have better odds of getting arena 1 and 2 rares and epics when opening chests. I figured that once I have gotten all of the cards from the first two arenas and leveled up the ones I want a few times, then I would progress on to arena 3. Is this a decent plan, or should I just go for arena 3 now? I haven't gotten the giant skeleton or prince yet, which is the main reason I'm wanting to keep the pool of cards I can draw from smaller.
TouchArcana is the Fourth clan, which won't pop up if you simply search for TouchArcade and is newly created and has plenty of space (will be the last time I post about it outside the recruitment thread to avoid spamming). For actual content: I played a ton during soft launch and stopped for awhile and have now started playing again now that it's out worldwide. Balance changes to the cards are nice and I'm glad that the matchmaking seems improved a bit more in my view (or maybe there's just a lot more people so there's a better sample size).
It's getting really frustrating now with it being next to impossible to get more then one crown and very hard to win. I feel like I don't have the right cards with my opponents having epics I don't have
Makes sense from a probability standpoint but you'll grow old waiting for epics, never mind specific ones. I think you'll be keeping yourself artificially low for a long while. You'll understand this analogy... your odds are probably only slightly better than pulling Dr Balanced.
I recall reading one of the tips during the server outage. It was something along the lines of you get more units from higher arena chests. I think it was referring to multiple counts. Since you can get lower arena cards from higher arena chests, you'll end up getting enough cards later on I think.
