This game is great fun, it's just a shame it doesn't actually want me to play. I feel discouraged to play while I have four chests. Yes, I know the chest unlocks are a pattern (remember as well that you only get 3 magic chests for every 248 chests though), but I don't feel like the game wants me to play because there's no progress. Even levelling up seems like a bad idea because as you level up, the pool of cards you can Aquire also rises, so to me it makes sense to try to level up cards early (ie. Don't play until you can get a drop). I really think this is an issue. What they should do is just make it so that chests stack. This means when you get a silver chest, it automatically begins unlocking, then say the next chest is gold, then that chest will begin unlocking immediately after the silver has unlocked. This also removes the need for chest slots, and allows players to continue to play. They will still want to unlock chest faster, though it won't alienate those of us less inclined to buy premium currency.
They kinda are. They can do a few hundred damage if you don't immediately have someone there to defend. It's like a stronger projectile (instead of an emphasis on buildings or units, it affects towers more imo)
I get that, but even people who do spend a bit of money will have issues with the current system. A gold chest costs 48 to unlock, and 80 is the smallest you can purchase. Most people who spend will drop a few bucks in, but regardless they will still hit this wall. I think it's poor design in all cases except for the money 'whales'
It definitely isnt changing though. And here is why: Sure from your perspective, and many others, the system is flawed. But ultimately it isnt. Its just how successful F2P mobile games work these days. There has to be something that urges people to spend money and to continue to spend money. Speaking of goblin barrels I literally just unlocked them from a free chest. Going to give them a try. They havent really gave me too much trouble. I always have arrows though; right as they launch the barrel I drop my arrows on where they are going to land. They go poof before that get any damage off. They cost 4 and arrows cost 3 so after that I have an advantage. However, they could be very effective if you have knowledge of your opponents deck & keep track of their card rotation & elixir. One feature I really hope supercell adds is a trophy-free mode so we can test new decks efficiently. Training mode aint cutting it
True but you have to wait until someone with the same level as you is online and you'll probably want to test the deck multiple times
I'm doing better now getting about 1700 seeing zap used a lot now it seems pretty effective! I hate goblin barrels too and also defences in general....I love the way it says offence over defence yet most defences can slaughter cards of the same value or much more
Any chance of another TouchArcade clan being set up? I've searched and found 3, but they're all full! Would love to be part of one through the TA family! Really enjoying the game so far!
Great gameplay but it would be great if you use different assets. I don't like Clash of Clans much...
As someone already mentioned the Clan Recruitment thread is a great place to look. I just started a fresh TA guild as the rest were full. More details there.
Yeah I got kicked from the second TA Clan I guess do to "inactivity" even tho I had just done several matches an hour or two before and was only in the clan for MAYBE 2 days. Pretty much disappointed me and decided to just uninstall the game due to the lameness. -.- Not everyone can be active enough to have 1000 crowns in 2 days (or whatever the criteria is) due to actually living life. /shrug
Decided to give the game a try. Won my first battle. The second one was just stupid. The person wouldn't make any moves unless I did. I actually waited a bit to see what would happen if I didn't make another move -- and he just sat there. I closed the game and will likely delete it. If that's some genius tactic people have figured out, it might work, but it also makes the game incredibly dull.
