Global launch today and already being copied? Hello people, I couldn't really believe it. When I wanted to download the game on the Google Play Store I found this copy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.empower.erred.jewelling&hl=de How can that be even possible!?
This is just so disgusting. Google really should evaluate their completely manual approach.. I couldn't believe it!
Just saw this finally went out of soft launch. Downloaded right away, got through training, played one match (won)... Then deleted, at a speed that surprised myself. Any game that immediately within 5 minutes of playing throws out two 3-hour timers and another timer in waiting (for another 3 hours) for a box that effectively stymies progress (the silver chest -- the only aspect of gameplay that allows your units to actually get stronger other than the hp and strength of your towers with your player level) doesn't have a chance on my device. I'm not complaining though - deleting saves me a lot of time and griping about timers and such, and makes way for people who want to properly pay for the game. I was disappointed though, after hearing how awesome the game was, how dependent Supercell was on my money to allow me a bit of enjoyment. My first Supercell game, and sadly (unless things turn around) my last. Although my opinion definitely won't hurt them financially in the least (not my intention either), I wanted to share my little bit of the universe with everyone here. Hearthstone, in comparison, offers far more than Clash Royale and asks for less. Hopefully at some point they will lessen the strain on diamonds and shorten the timers to something that doesn't require setting an alarm. Obviously you can still enjoy the game without using the chests but it is a major letdown when you win one of those things but are forced the wait such a long time to actually use it. That being said, the ability to watch matches is absolutely... amazing. Really. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the Theater. I really hope more games follow suit and allow players chances to watch top games in-game (instead of being forced to go to Twitch or YouTube to watch streams).
Seriously, this is NOT a pay to play game. Don't worry too much about the timer, just play as you wish. The level you are does have an impact, but the real impact are your skills. You will battle Level 8 at arena 3 which you could beat at level 5 and you could get beaten by a level 6 at arena 5 when you are level 8. Skills >> Units. Of course I'm not talking about being in the top 100. Just play and play and play until you are good. I've been playing since the soft launch in Canada and this game is great. You don't encounter much P2P users when you are in your trophy sweetspot (me being around 1900).
It becomes harder at higher ranks as you get matched against players who have spent money and have troops which are 2 levels above yours. Yes you can still win but it puts you at an immediate disadvantage.
They payed money or played longer. Basically it goes 1) High Skill, Good Cards 2) High Skill, Bad Cards = Low Skill, Good Cards 3) Low Skill, Bad Cards But the way the trophy system works, you'll be put in the appropriate category soon enough. Occasionally you might run into someone trolling the system for the lulz, but that'd be one or two out of 100 matches.
Timers Whoa holy mackerel....3 hour timers on my first chest? I like the gameplay but do I get maximum 3 chests per day or something? Wasting earned chests is not something I'd like to do.
Just play, the chests will come. The basic cards are VERY powerful, level up what you have and learn the game. There is no timer or cost for playing, and it raises your rank (if you win) which gives you access to more variety of cards from chests.
So it's ok or even encouraged to just keep playing and not worry about lost chests because I've got 3 silvers and 1 gold filling all the slots?
You can play this game simply because it is fun. Doing things without the expectation of getting a reward is good! But if you need some kind of progression to feel like you've enjoyed playing a game, winning matches will give you Crowns, which increases your score and gets you into new arenas, which will get you betters cards. You can also lose Crowns and decrease your arena level. Every 4 hours you get a free little chest to open, and every 24 hours you get a special golden chest which you unlock by taking out 10 towers (win or lose). If you only play when you're able to earn a chest, you'll have a very hard time advancing to the next arena because of lack of experience and you'll barely ever play the game.
This game is super fun, though I find progression a bit odd. It feels weird not gaining anything when your chest slots are full, I thought you'd gain a bit of gold or something.
