This has convinced me to get an ipad. http://www.clamcase.com/ http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/05/clamcase-ipad-case-magically-turns-your-tablet-into-a-laptop/
It does look nice, but something about it is giving me strange vibes. The way to make an iPad look most appealing is to very nearly turn it into a netbook?
It has a lot of empty space below the keyborad. Add an extra battery, option for SSD/HDD and I'll consider it. First iConvertible.
Lol... why'd get an iPad if you wanna carry a bulky device in the first place. And netbooks are so damn cheaper as well. If I want external keyboard with my iPad, the smaller the better (and lighter). Throw that in my backpack and I'm set.
So its like a netbook with a touchscreen? I think i'll wait for the 2nd gen iPad so I can video chat.
If there were keyboard shortcuts, it'd be a good idea, but you constantly have to lift your arm to touch the screen. Not gonna work unless they implement a mouse pad, buuuut no cursor.
My thoughts exactly. I suppose it could be useful if you do a lot of typing, but then again, why not just get a more powerful/capable notebook/laptop with MS Word etc?
Thats like asking why get an I-touch or I-phone, its all in the apps, touch screen, battery life and the best part a Great Apple product.
No it's not. An iPod is not a niche product, it's a Portal Media Player, quite catching on these days. And iPhone is not a niche product, it's a ****ing phone. The iPad is a niche product, you need to have a specific reason to get it, or it's basically just an expensive toy. I love my Mac, but I won't praise every single product Steve Jobs rolls out. Choosing a netbook over an iPad is perfectly justifiable because you can do more shit with it for the same price, and won't have to get idiotic accessories like this. To even match a cheap laptop can do, you have to: Jailbreak Buy iLife Get a Keyboard Get an iPod so you can kinda have a mouse with an app If you want a camera, buy the hook-up you can't use anywhere else And no replaceable battery. If Apple decides to reject that one app you really would've found useful because the employee reviewing it had indigestion and was just feeling all around pissed that day, boo-hoo.
