      Also wondering, how big is the tie in with civcrafter? I quit it a few days ago and uninstalled, of course not realizing I'd lose my data. I don't plan on working to get it back so is civminer a deep enough game on its own?

      It's actually a really solid stand-alone game. It's only related to Civcrafter because you can send gold and stone over.
