Those are some major graphics. I'm kinda curious about the physics engine though. Is it gonna be floaty where you can drift through the field or you have full control? I drifting towards floaty
Wow this game promises to be a major trip! Just realised now, after looking at the screenshots just one more time, that there is a small plane flying through the screen on screenshot number 9! The rest looks... "tripping"!
I cannot wait to tear up this game. Been waiting a long time, and prepared to wait as long as necessary, but man.....I need this! I really want to show that mainframe who is boss around here...
mhh looks great Any idea about release date? Will there be opened/closed beta? thank's for informations I am just afraid of the control
Don't know about beta. I'm sure the controls will be fine. SEVEN from h.grenade unlike a lot of the devs is dedicated to HARDCORE gaming. He's not making a game that holds your hand. Anticipate an extremely challenging yet extremely fun game. As far as release date.....per SEVEN the game will be released when it is complete. I have faith in h.grenade....this game WILL rock!!
writingsama - So why don't you write audio engines anymore!! It sure sounds like you know what's going on. CS.One was created in Unity and it has a limited cocoa front end right now but I am currently restricted to what Unity can and can't do with audio at the moment. It has forced some more creative solutions, but I think they really are working well and people will like it a lot. I also think that the iPhone's audio hardware would have a hard time playing back sections of AAC files while running an action shooter at 30fps - in fact I think its pretty much impossible. Great ideas though. What is your bg and what do you do now? le'deuche123 - haha Toaster Bathtub Dosed!! different - thx Kamazar - It is a zero-g game with physics more like Asteroids. A little difficult to get precise at first but once it clicks its so much fun. 'Jeep - haha, yeah that plane is your ship buddy. Own it. SMN - We are closing in on release. A few more tweaks and some more fine tuning are needed. Soon, real soon. There are two controller to choose from - A. Basic (single stick rotation like Geo Wars) and B. Advanced (analog swipe left/right to rotate more like Asteroids). The advance controller has player settings so that you can customize the ship speed, rotation and aim dampening. Both have "Shake" to turn on and off Bullet Time. They also have an Airbrake or Reverse thruster. I have tried to include enough options that anyone can make it work for the way that they want to play it. le'deuche123 - Thx man. theone1007 - haha, nice! I will have some new screens later this week to show off some of the new arena graphics. Stay tuned. 7
My BG is very diverse...right now I'm working on computational neuroscience and artificial intelligence and brain-computer interfacing. Compared to MP3, AAC is extremely cheap to decode, even with fixed-point math if needed. Do a bit of research on it, most of the info needed for basic background is available on Wikipedia under the topics "AAC" and "discrete cosine transform" and "fixed point math." In fact, AAC is basically "simplified" MP3 - with MP3 you have to do all the same math, PLUS some. They thought they were improving over what MDCT can do, but they were so wrong...
writingsama - Wow that stuff is waaay over my head : ) Very impressive. CS.One is just the beginning. As a graphic designer and animator, music is alway very important to me. Sound in general. It's really the key to any deep, interactive experience. I will definitely look into this and hopefully I can put it to good use in the near future. Rocketman919 - Nope nothing like Space ninja.. it's not a dodging game or a bullet storm kind of game at all. Its about making things blow up : ) I generally describe it as Asteroids/Geometry Wars/Rez. Bullet Time in CS.One is limited and you need collect Ghost Data after each kill to keep your supply full. It also acts as a shield, making the the ship invincible while it lasts. Collecting the Data puts you at risk so its up to you to decide if you want to collect it or not. Shocked - cool thx! It won't be anywhere near $10 for the record don't worry.
Ok, sounds cool. You can shoot right? On the controls, you said that there was only one stick, which would probably be used for moving. HOw do you shoot?
I believe that I have come up with an absolutely revolutionary technology that will change the game industry as we know it... it's called.... wait for it... a fire button : )
hahaha, I know. I will go down in the record books as being the smartest guy ever!! It even lights up when you press it. You can just hold it down to for auto-fire. Maybe I should patent this tech!?
Now your just talking crazy....Anyway seeing what's in the video with the volume up, makes most of the other games in the app store seem kinda.....well, lame.
Haha - thx man! The audio system has been completely revamped since then too with a tons of new vocal samples, hits, fills, breaks, etc. that escalate as you progress. It may not be super deep right now but I will be able to add to it over time. Right now it just sounds insane, especially with headphones. I think its actually my favorite part. Oh and the arena changes when you teleport through the walls : )
I never got to play rez, but I used to play No2 a lot, and also Frequency and amplitude, I love games where your performance effects the music. I think that tap tap game is retarded because when you miss the note the song just keeps on going....lame. Even the menus on this puppy are slick as hell, so I'm looking forward to a pretty immersive experience.
I read on Pocketgamer that this game is about to be released in a few weeks. Can't wait! One of the most anticipated games for me right now. I'm guessing a mid-late May release on this one like so many other games.
Agreed. This looks mega awesome. I've added it to my App shopping list. How much will it be on release?
