First time playing feels like a regular game but the more I play the more I like the game. I like more Isotope yet but Cs one is a very polished arcade highscore game and the graphics and the sound are amazing for sure. Highly recommended with headphones where possible. What faction are people here entering? I am not decided yet
My comments about this game being pure awesome still stand but on various occasions: 1) I started at various points in the arena instead of starting directly south of the core (only happened on 2nd and 3rd stage) 2) I started playing before the camera zoomed all the way in on my ship, which made it look like a white comma trying to avoid multicolor periods. Basically unplayable 3) I was killed by turret fire from extremely long distances (over the entire length of the arena) or before I even spawned. Happened on stage 2, 3, and 5) And I always seem to get a little bit of lag the closer enemies spawn. Which certainly makes split second escape manuvers a little difficult.
If you want you can make a poll with factions then the most voted we will all enter or propose one and see what happens. Your post number is higher, I think people will listen you more than me on that
Actually iSpazio is an italian site about iPhone. I don't know about ispazio.net, but ispazio is not affiliated to piracy; it talks about jailbroken devices too, but jailbreaking doesn't necessarily mean every app on the device is a pirate copy! I have a jailbroken device but the apps I use from the AppStore are original.
Done. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=15133 Too late for me though, I already joined Black opz. I liked the description for it =P
I'm playing on an original iPod touch, and it's absolutely unplayable due to lag... I've tried restarting the iPod, but that didn't help. Have just deleted and reinstalled, so will see how it turns out now.
I have to say the lag on this game is painful at times. It needs to run as smoothly as Isotope to be fully enjoyed.
Hmm, Have just deleted and re-installed, and it's much smoother, although it lags when there are lots of enemies on screen... I'm not sure yet whether it's quite smooth enough to be worth playing.
no lags on my 3G... it reminds me a lot of games of the 80's.. for my atari2000xl, and my commie64... thrusting is an art form. light thrust is the way for myself to do it. its a great game, and i like so many things about it. i hope more stages and music is added, but i don't know how you can add stages; they would all be sort of the same. that being said, at .99$ it's a steal!!! this game sticks out like a sore thumb amongst all the other games that utilize 2 joysticks, one for aiming and one for firing... it's more about skill now, and less about riding about and just firing any old way to kill as much as you can.. amazing game!
Personally I'm not getting why this is sooooo hardcore in peoples eyes. Yes, the controls (basic) have you multi-tasking, but seem perfectly simple enough to grasp and execute. I'm most definitely a casual gamer, and usually have no patience with anything remotely needing some sort of long learning curve, and this is right down my alley. Also, despite the clear 'zero gravity' difference, it's a top-down arcade shooter and shares the same simple goal as all the other top-down arcades shooters out there i.e to get as far as you can and as high a score as you can. Pretty simple concept and doesn't cunjure up 'hardcore' in my head at all when I think about it. I wonder if people are thinking of this as hard core because of the devs purposefully clear public distaste of all those 'cute' casual games out there, and his obvious attempt to make a game as full of as much grit, light insults, and explosions as possible, in a clostrophobic environmment. But truly 'hardcore'? Na. it's just the wrapping...
I'm using an original iPod touch. I've reinstalled it, and it lags less, but it still gets far too choppy when there are enemies on screen. It can range from just a little bit clippy, to too-laggy-to-avoid-anything, and freezes fairly frequently (3 times in less than thirty-minutes play). Reinstalling made it slightly better, so I don't know if anything else I could do could help. Does amount of free disc space make a difference? But for now, I'm hoping for an update to reduce the lag before playing it again.
I do agree with you. The lag is annoying, and as a fellow 1G Touch owner, it feels like we should have been warned about the lag before jumping in the deep end. Why don't dev's test their games out on the slowest performing devices, then all would be hunkydory. Just because IG isn't on retail sale any more, doesn't mean people aren't using the things. I know we have to keep up with the times, but on the other hand, I'm not one of those people who likes (or can afford) to get the latest bit of gadgetry as soon as available. I can see myself with my trusty 1G for some time to come, but fear that games will soon become too advanced for it to cope. At the very least, I think Apple should insist that devs make it clear which devices will run their games smoothly and which ones not. It's only fair.
Wooow offline mode doesn't sync your high scores when you go online. So my online high is 200k but my offline is 400k. That's dumb >.<
I'll review this title later on today, but first impressions - amazing. For 59p it's easily the bargain of this month. The way the audio syncs with the visuals is fantastic, love the invincible bullet time feature, really impressed.
That's strange, the build I received earlier on in the week (review build) was less laggy than the retail. Maybe it's because I was playing Real Racing earlier, but I'll have to check again. Hm, weird. EDIT: I'm pretty sure it syncs for me Bat. You getting better yet?
Damn Vally had to call off work just to deal with your ass give me some time to wake up and I'll try and put 4mil up on the boards. Also I must ask,....All you guys are playing on hardcore mode right? No body would post a multi mil score on easy right?
I had that 1.1mil on Hardcore, but the most recent one was on easy because I couldn't be bothered posting up a 2mil highscore on Hardcore right after my exam. Really, really hard exam. Suffice to say, dying more than 10 times without posting up a new high score pissed me off. So I switched to easy and got that 1.9mil score. Now I'm back in the top 5 EDIT: I did it for Red Cell
Easy mode dude, sorry to say! The highest the network, the higher the enemy point value seems to go up. If you avoid the power supplies on around network 6/7 you can just completely milk the spawning enemies without destroying the terminal to get a couple of 100k's on your score before going for the next network. My score was only Network 7 easy mode.
