I think the update is out already. I went to re-download the app and it said "This update is free" EDIT: Played. Confirmed. YAY!! Update is out!!!! I kinda liked the old icon better though...
I don't see an update either D= I like the old icon a bit better too. And did the scoring get changed? Right now I have to count the digits to know what I got =/
Count me as another who preferred the old icon. The new one's all right, but yeah, that's just my preference. Either way, though, I don't really care, so long as the lag issues are addressed. In this game, if your controls stop responding for a second or more at a time (which mine regularly do), you don't stand a chance. Honestly, I just want to finally play the game properly.
Got the new update. When it installed I got the new icon. I restarted my iPhone before I ran the new update, and when the phone restarted it reverted back to the old icon. Strange?

Sound appears to stop working after low battery message. Might not be consistent I have only gotten low battery while playing once.

Se7en doesn't seem to be responding to PMs at the moment. I have tried to PM him as well. Count me as another for the old icon.
New Update = teh sux When I upgraded to my 3GS it was just a matter of Username and Password and I got my scores back. Now I'm completely shut out =(
I just got the new update, and mine did the same thing. Strange, but hey, I'll take it. Probably related to the 3.0 icon bug (the same reason the top 30% of my Isotope icon looks like the AudioBoo icon). Either way, the lag is inproved! It doesn't become unplayable until level 3! I think a lot of that's the dual stick controls, though - they're definitely a lot more fault/lag-tolerant than the originals. Either way, as much as I want to love this game, it's coming right back off my iPhone (2G w/ 3.0 firmware) until the NEXT update, or until there's a firmware update that might fix the lag. And BTW, yes, I did reboot.
How do you not like the update? It runs way faster for me (well, you probably don't care with your fancy 3gs >=\) The dual stick controls are much easier but I feel like I'm cheating =P
Who me? The game itself is awesome, losing all achievements, scores, faction, and having to make a new username is not fun
