Hopefully tomorrow and then hopefully Apple is quick about it. Sales have been very slow so far and yeah it was a bad time to let it out. Also we have asked most reviewers just to wait for the update and review that. It has gone through a lot of good changes this week but not enough that it is going to be amazing on the 1st gen touch or iPhone yet. On a 3G it is really smooth now, assuming that it isn't a jailbroken device. The good news is that after talking with some other Unity devs have I found a way to squeeze more performance out of it still. The bad news is that its a major code overhaul. I will start that process next week. Wish me luck. It will improve frame rates on slower devices in general and especially on the higher levels when it gets crazy chaotic. UPDATES IN V1.1 1. Try one more time to fix the #@!!!*&!^!!$ right side ADV controller bug!? Seriously the game is not respecting the code - no reason for it to happen yet it does! Once we get things moving a long I will look into OpenFient and FB Connect. If anyone is having the "stats update" issue - I cannot find a reason for it. Sorry. It seams like if maybe you entered an weird character like ' or & or = that it would mess up the account connection. Anyway, something funky happens and it messes with future updates. Just email me your UDID and I can reset the account. OZ - The spawn radius is set based on how fast you are moving. When you get spawn raped it is usually because you sit for a second and the App says okay spawn some stuff around him but then you move. You and the app just picked the same location to move too! Pwned. When you hear the "whoosh" spawning sound effect don't move for a sec - wait to see where they are going to show up then move. Awesome update, I can't wait. EDIT: OMG, YOU FIXED THE DOUBLE TAP ALREADY? I can see this game getting WAAAAY better, this update made my day =D
Really, really looking forward to the update. Though... are Chillingo still offering the voucher for highest score at the end of this week? Because i'm still top scorer of this build. >_>!
Contest is still on. And Mike's score will count too it just has to be cut in half for hardcore or one third for elite. Remember its the best score at the highest level on a live game that was submit. So if you only get 1,000 point and elite and no one else has then that's our winner. I suggest you guys try and complete hardcore if you haven't yet. Personally I haven't either - I had to cheat to do it ; ) But I got close yesterday - level 7 on hardcore!! LeD - XP will only go up slowly after you have completed everything. All achievements and cracked all skill levels. Better accuracy and efficiency also helps move your XP up : ) Redsox - yeah I have heard that it does help some devices that were having trouble. I didn't notice any change on my 1st Gen iPhone but it was not having a lot of trouble before. RayLancer - we are going to submit today. We just found one more bug on some 3G devices. I finally made the jump from 47th spot to 13th (2,112,175 vs 983,650 pts). What killed me was during all the frantic shooting and shaking my iPod Touchk, I kept hitting that button on top of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
I kept turtling in the game, which got me NO WHERE. Like early on, just focus on farming ghost.data off dead enemies. You're going to need it a lot later on. Just go through clearing out the cores, you get a pretty nice clear bonus off of them. I think I cleared up to Lvl 7 (on Easy >.> ). Just use bullet.time whenever you get surrounded (I used it a few times when the Cores started having having these fan blades moving around it).
Ah yes those annoying blades! I always die because of those! I believe they start at level 5 after you destroy all the shield generators.
Yea, I used bullet.time on those, I just stood there in place because I got lazy. Towards the later end, I just focused on destroying those Shield Gens ASAP.
I noticed a glitch with the blades, I was just sitting there NOT using bullet.time and they never killed me, this was on level 5.
But perhaps you were just flying between them? They are not everywhere. But I also use slow-mo everytime from core 5 on...
Hmm. Not too sure I agree about beta builds being allowed especally considering there have been other enhancements, not just score, that allow further progression such as slower turret speed and less control lag. But hey, what do I know.
