If you don't like the controls, this game simply isn't for you. But they are (both) perfect for this game! You could also demand a steering wheel for Bounce On, won't come Isotope is a fantastic game, the best of alot of it's kind. But cs.one ist truly something unique and goes its own way, the comparison doesn't work. And it would be a big disadvantage for this experience, if you would have these simple dual stick controls. Here, it's really about getting a pro... There are some things who will be updated or changed by the dev. But the controls need to be exactly the way they are...
I'm glad at least some here feel the way I do about the controls! The controls should always be the easiest thing about a game! If you want to make a game hard, make the enemies harder or something, don't mess up the controls!
That's why I say wait for the next update. Control lag is what's stopping me from progressing further on Hardcore. But it's still a very good game!
I'm making better progress. I'll be back on playing this after I get my wisdom tooth pulled out... EDIT: Also I noticed that my scores all got reseted to 0 after last night, but I did get a higher score that beat everything I had. I have like 2 scores reflecting my 44 minutes of gaming >.>
Why does everyone keep complaining about the same thing? It's already been said countless times and the problem is being adressed, there doesn't need to be tens of people reitterating on a problem which has already been reitterated over and over. What "grinds my gears" the most is that when people(some) are complaining about the controls, one they don't take the actual time and effort learning how to use them and two they have nothing good to say about they game. In my opinion this is a hardcore gamers game in the sense that you cannot just hop into the game and expect to be number one. Example are games like Scoops and Cooking Mama and even Rolando, where you grab the game and already you have an understanding how to play and with basic skills you can complete your goal. You don't have to spend hours practice to perfect a strategy, where as to CS.one well if you played you know what im talking about. Also anyone who says you can't strafe in this game you obviously don't know what strafing is(you can strafe in this game), and anyone who complains about something like that is just whining. It is just very frustrating for me because I used to draw alot and sprited for awhile and I know when you spend alot of work into something and all you get is negative comments it almost makes your efforts worthless. Try giving this game a chance before you start asking for refunds and calling the game "broken" and horrible. I'm sure we all are not eight year olds with an attention span of a two year old(hopefully). And in regards to controls, stop comparing these controls to every single twinstick shooter in the appstore, not only is it not fair it almost doesn't make any sense. Newer doesn't necessarily mean better.
You guys are too cool!! Haha Thx for helping explain things to the angry few who clearly do have the attention spans of 2 year olds ; ) I am close to having the next update ready and I am trying to solve as many problems as possible with this build. I'm sure it isn't going to fix everything but it's a very good start : ) I will give you guys the full list of improvements once I get it sent in. I keep checking the faction leaderboards and its really cool to see all of the activity. Thanks for your support TA'ers!!
In referring to the Gamefaq's board, I was pissed for the exact same reason as I am in this thread. Prototype is an excellent game, I love Mass Effect and Bioshock and Prototype is right up there. But because of one certain IGN review, everyone's basing their opinions on that OR the visuals of the game. The same logic can be applied to CS.One. If the controls put you off, put some practice into it. This isn't Dark Raider-like horrible controls. These ones are very much manageable and I've found some intensely, fun moments in this game. If all you put your mind to is twinsticktwinstick, you're never going to get the entertainment that's provided in the game. And that, I guess, is not my loss.
Are you thinking of adding openfeint or something that will let us chat to other players? And by the way when I say chat I mean talk major trash to other factions!
some people base their opinions on the what talking heads tell them. There are plenty of games that i've played over the years that recieved poor reviews that I've still had a blast playing. We also live in a culture where instant gratification is demanded. Having to practice at something in order to be good at it is far beyond what most are capable of. Which is why FPS are still selling great because the skills required for one game translate well to any other. You already know going into the game that you can "pwn newbs". Now world of Warcraft is different in it's success because it requires time and little skill.
Wow a lot happened while I was away. That fricking dick at stp should have a pineapple shoved up his ass! He really should stick to pretty pants pet wars or something. @Chiller One- I guess you've never heard the term "retro". Some gameplay elements are just classic and in a lot of ways superior to contemporary attempts. Twin stick shooter?? Yeah geo wars is great, isotope's bland and cs.one....wait...oh yeah... IT'S NOT A TWIN STICK SHOOTER!!!!
You can't really blame a lot of people for not getting this. It's a very hardcore, difficult game based around score attacking and not casual play. You can't blame more casual gamers for not understanding it TOO much! I'm all for spreading the love but it really is a game for hardcore game players. If everybody liked it and agreed with it I think you would've failed in that. that's one of the reasons I'm so much in love with this game. It caters to a niche hardcore crowd that are a bit too drowned in casual games. It's right up my alley, whereas more casual gamers who aren't so competitive or who play games simply for completion or to fill a gap in time aren't going to be putting the time in after the very steep initial learning curve. Anybody who seriously played arcade scrolling shooters in the 90's, you need this.
How do you upload scores, I'm part of black opz but it still says I have 0 exp and stuff online, when I really have stats offline (I am hooked up on wifi)
I think i messed up on my log in stuff for my faction and my username, so if I delete the game and reinstall it, will I be able to do that all over again?
I don't believe so because the game is linked to your UDID which is permanently set with your ipod. You should be able to contact se7en and have him reset everything for you though.
Oh ok hopefully that will work, i'll ask him when(if) he comes on today. I didn't put my password in right and now I can't log in at all so hopefully he can help me with that.
Saw that Se7en threw out a decent score last night. That's what I'm talking about. I haven't been able to put in a "real" game in a couple of days now
