I would love to see that, but please fix the scoring or I will be forced to revert back to easy mode:(

I haven't heard from him. He's probably sipping crystal with jay-z, out of golden crunk goblets.

I'm on 2g touch and it still happens. Try sliding your finger up a little when you thrust.

Would be nice to have a non-jerky game first.

Thanks for the input! I'll have to try that next time I play. My battery is currently dead cause of this game.

Damn a lot has happened here in a short time. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get online until now, I was a few states away at my GF's sons graduation when the game went live - I just thought it was more important to show him some support. That said, I have been dying to know what people think. Haha, I just read all 20something pages and my head hurts.

I took some notes and will do my best to try and answer the biggest issues.

    1. LAG on jailbroken/iPod Touch 1st Gen
CS.One was not tested on any jailbroken devices. They are not supported by Apple I didn't have the money to go buy a bunch of new devices and jb them. Plus none of my tester or friends had them.

The app runs pretty much rock solid at 25-28MB and the "hard ceiling" for crashes, memory warnings and glitches is about 35MB on the iPhone. Because jailbroken devices can run background apps and processes I have no way to determine how much additional memory they will be using. I made the decision not to short the rest of the devices by scaling everything back.

This was an over sight but it also was not tested on any original touch devices. I don't have access to them and from everything that I have read they are horrible for any 3D or action heavy game. The original iPhone which I have isn't even very good. Hell, the 3G isn't even that good at it.

If Apple had just made the 2nd Gen touch we would all be rolling in sick games.

The current problem with CS.One accentuating these lag issues is that it checks the device to make some on the fly adjustments and smooth out frame rates but it cannot tell me the generation. So basically the best and worst devices are trying to push the most detail. Completely my fault and I will fix it ASAP.

Run in safe mode if jailbroken otherwise you might have some device memory issues and yes just like a desktop I would assume that having the device filled to the breaking point will effect performance. Most CPUs/GPUs like to have some room to think.

    2. Leaderboards
There were quite a few attempt at balancing the skill levels so that playing on Hardcore would net more points. Every kill is worth more levels are worth 2x etc. - so in theory it was the right solution. Now that people *cough* Vally *cough are "milking" the easy mode its a different situation : ) Haha. I will spread the points more in the next build and maybe cap easy mode somewhere around level 5/6 and or just make it way harder at higher level.

I will be slowing down the turrets on all skill levels at high levels because they just spew bullets and it does lag the game for a fact. I would like to see more people be able to play at higher levels an achieve gigantic scores! Basically you should not be able to drop 2mil on Easy thats just cheating and/or someone really patient - those games must go on forever.

    3. Local vs. Online score
Bat Outta Hell mentioned this, but it good for all to know. Just like XBox live your local scores and stats are always recorded. It will always try to update your online stats but you have to select Online for that to work. As soon as you complete a game the stats are updated.

So how many people have tried it with headphones on yet? Its really like a whole new game. You also get a lot of sound cues that help like when enemies spawn, etc. Plus everything just sounds so much more alive.

Thanks everyone for the feedback so far. Its all very helpful.

Okay I am off to work on getting an update ready for you guys : )

    Changing Online Account Name

Hi! I created an online account for h.grenade online and was wondering if anyone knew whether you can change the name or not.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Great to know that it won't just get left.
For your information, I'm experiencing lag on my 3G iPhone that has never been jailbroken.

brerlappin - I just PM'ed you some info.

AClockworkSausage - The only slow downs we have seen are killing the core (mega explosion), loading a new level, when you hit a ton of enemies at once or on higher levels when the turrets are firing like crazy : )

I will do everything that I can to make this baby smoother on the lower end devices - meaning everything below a 2nd Gen touch!

Thanks for the support! I love this game but I have the same issues other people have had with lag and such. I'm on a 1st gen touch and I can't afford a 2nd gen one yet lol. I'll look forward to the update.

Does that mean that 3G users will have to resign to the fact that there will always be lag at the beginning and end of a stage or will you try and resolve this for us?
Since a stage can be over in a 10 - 20 seconds, lag is very noticable as it is appearing very often.
Maybe turn that explosion down a touch ;)

    Hi Se7en,
Without distracting from my praise earlier in this thread, which this game richly deserves, I do think the lag will be a deal breaker for a lot of people, so it's great to see that you will be sorting that out for the many 1G owners out there. I remember people waxing lyrical about Belowscape because they didn't compromise possible framerate issues for more content (but they went WAY too far in the other direction IMO). If games like this lag then they get binned, fast! If they don't, then they become keepers for life:)

Yea the music/sounds are very nice and for some reason helps me concentrate more, it gets my adrenaline pumping to were my body can keep up with what my mind is trying to do. Very good game, going to see now if I can hit a million.

But only about 600 people have this game!?(referring to Vallys post with his screen shot of his score)

This game is the single most stunning shooter experience on the iPhone. Period. I just love it. Controls are great and you get used to it really quickly (I prefer advanced). The sound is just unbelievable! Masterpiece. Everything just fits. And I really like, that it's challenging as hell. But I see me starting over and over again. I'm already addicted. This is one of the best games in the App Store. I just forgot, that I purchased Real Racing... for real, this is too good.

Does the multiplier work by how fast you kill the enemies or is it just how many enemies you kill without dying?

I gave this 1 star on the UK store until they update it to include a help section on the menu properly explaining the controls and gameplay, fix the occasional slowdowns and add a return to menu and restart option during play.

1 star??? Does it run?? Does it offer what it says it offers? Did you get it on sale?? If you answered yes to any of those, then really the game deserves more than one star. Shit your pretty much saying this is one of the worst games on the app store. Is this an attempt to scare the developer into updating it really fast, to avoid your "omg one star review"!?? Give me a break. Go play a ds media game, they're truly one star games.

This is really a bad joke.
Perhaps now, you are a hero among your friends, but for the dev, this great game and the App Store system: this is just childish and silly!!
The controls and gameplay ARE EXPLAINED right before playing! Open your eyes!
