Started having the non-stick card issue, especially when moving cards to top right. I discovered that double tapping the card to be moved makes it automatically go where it needs to.

    Hard is hard

I beat the demo easy and medium quickly, but I have spent 3 days on the hard trial. Really stumped. Anybody have a hint?

getting yourself in position to free the Jack is the trick. you need to plan to have unwindable stacks that will get you there. its just trial and error - learning which legal moves you have to leave on the table so the deal falls appropriately & you can create the path you need. I guess i was lucky & found the right path after 3 or 4 attempts.

campaign #2 is proving to be much harder for me. the low cards i need are dealt very late & by that time the cards in the middle of the path are no longer accessible. so yea. diabolical.

It's a bit of a rip off expecting you to purchase hints and undo, AFTER purchasing the premium game. It's a tough game and I see this as just a way to make money out of a great mans name. Churchill counter balances the Rumsfield sales pitch, without Churchills name it would just be an impossible game of solitaire.

I would like to see portrait mode as an option on the iPad all the time, and removal of the message to inform you that you are running out of time, and space etc.

    Beat the hard demo finally

Thanks for the tip. When I changed my focus to the black jack in the devil's row I got it. The 7 of clubs became the card to protect.

I find my success rate is higher when I don't take the hints. I don't have hints for the premium version and my concentration is a lot better. Relying on tips in the trial makes you not think :D

Thanks for that tip! I haven't had a single instance of the non-stick card issue since implementing the double tap.

TIPS/Strategy on DEALS in premium version

Do any of you guys have tips/strategy for particular deals? I have cleared 10 wins, however, there are certain deals I'm wondering would be the best tactic?

So far I have noticed that

#1 In some deals it is about clearing as many cards as possible and laying the King in position immediately
#2 In other deals, it is about not laying down the first few Kings (red or black) and waiting for a particular King (red or black)
#3 In all deals, I always connect 2 cards together or 3, but more than 3 starts to wreak havoc if you don't have more than 2 Kings in position. Having more than 2 cards unconnected in a row results in an immediate clusterf*ck
#4 In the harder campaigns- you always have 2 or 3 choices for where to unlock cards, and I've only learned which ones are best via trial and error
#5 I also never place the same numbered cards all in one place next to each other- as those can get locked and then you become stuck, so I tend to separate all the connected cards in opposite places

I haven't found that protecting a certain card has been beneficial for me as the overall strategy in each Deal.

Which strategies have you found that worked best for you?

My main key so far has been to approach the same deal mixing up things and taking some notes. I dearly miss the ability to see how far I have come in my last attempt vs. being able to see what my best attempt was.

I have resolved easy and medium, of course, I moved to the first one (DEAL#001) and solved that one as well. I will try again with hard in the near future, as it appears that one can be solved as well.

I have not cleared 10 wins, just those three. I have read that #004 has been solved, which I have not been able to, I am close with #002.

I read in one article that "not all deals can be solved". Is that a mistake or is it true? Can you guys confirm which ones are certainly solvable so far? I have not read anywhere that they can or can't be solved...

    Thanks!

Wow, what a great game. I was able to puzzle out the first and third campaign deals in about 7-10 plays each. The second is much more difficult, 15 plays and I haven't even gotten close. I will skip it for now. With 200 deals this is a year of daily entertainment for 5 bucks, great value.

Edit :Cracked 4 in just 3 plays. Will keep posting progress so that we can get a list running of the ones that can be solved.

Edit: On a roll , beat 5 in 2 plays.

Frustratingly buggy at the moment, hopefully they will iron it out. Saw Donald Rumsfeld on the BBC talking about how he chose to develop the app after talking to a cabinet member of Churchill who passed away and felt the need to preserve the game for future generations - fascinating

I am on 11 now, almost solved it on first try so I know it can be done. Of the first 10, 2, 6, 8, 9, and 10 have me stumped. Generally they all have something in common - key cards come out way too late and the board is a cluster at that point. I have worked several of them enough to know that if they can be solved it is not an intuitive solution. You can manipulate the draws by not making valid moves on the board, but if this is required formthese it could take dozens of tries to make any ground.

I can confirm that I have 1,3,4,5,7 complete... no luck with 2 and 6... I will try 8, buth then I will skip to 11 as well.

As I am not paying for hints, I find it useful that when I am towards the end, the Hint only offers to make a purchase if there are still moves left :)

Btw, I do not find it to be too buggy, any oddities have workarounds, luckily.

I also did not find a way to make illegal moves. What kind for example?

I do the same thing with the hints! I was able to solve 11 after maybe 5-7 plays. On the first go I had it down to just 3 covered cards on the board and it felt close. Getting to the actual solution turned out to be quite a brain burner, this was one of the better ones I think. Good luck.

    12 seems doable

After confirming that deal 11 can be done, I spent a lot of time on 12... I think it can also be solved. Came very close.

    30 can be solved
25 can be solved as well

Do you guys annotate some games, I.e. Make notes?

I can confirm 12. Seemed like it was going to be a breeze with 3 aces to start but ended up being a bit of a puzzler. I got 13 down to needing to move 1 card and couldnt do it, now after about 10 more plays I cant remember how I did it. I had to skip some obvious moves and make some counterintuitive plays. I moved on to 14 and solved that one as well. I wish I took notes, would help me get back to the solution on 13. Anyway, off to try 15 now.

I greatly appreciate that glitches are being corrected, this will help my enjoyment of the game. I have made it through the first two Sample Campaigns (Easy and Medium), but stuck on Hard for weeks now. It is a lot of fun and requires great memory skills as so far "trial and error" has been a necessity for my mind, to say the least!

    Q. Is this game "a version" of what Churchill played or exactly what he played? Did he have the option to Redo moves? That would seem to be hugh especially with having 104 cards to manually deal on starting over (during his low tech era). I know Hints were not available to him, that is understandable. But if he had the option to redo sideway moves OR dropping cards from the Ace pile back down (manually, of course), then that would explain why the game is so difficult absent buying Redos and Hints.

    Thanks!

Yeah, lack of undo's for those who have purchased premium is very punishing. I will not purchase any, but having to redo 10 minutes of puzzling because I missed a move is very frustrating. Almost as frustrating as that stupid "YOU LOOK STUMPED" message. Whoever put that in the game should be fired. I am a grown @$$ man who is perfectly capable of knowing when I need to hit the replay or menu button. At one point I considered writing a 1 star review in the app store for a game I love just because of that message.

On to the puzzles. 15 seems like one of those with all the wrong cards in all the wrong places from the jump. I tried it a few times and made very little progress before moving on. If you make certain starting moves on 16 it can start very well, but it seems like every deal from that point is just crap on top of crap. Gave it a few tries and now am on to 17. Will post more thoughts as I play it.
