But any money made within the game via iap is going to charity. So while he pushed for his personal passion to come to the touchscreen he is not looking to profit from it in any way. So give it some slack.
For those experiencing the bug of being unable to move cards correctly to new piles, I discovered that closing out the app (double clicking the home button and swiping up) and then reopening fixes this... And you don't lose your place in the game.
One thing I'd love to see (and should be easy enough to implement) is moving the "finished piles" in the iPhone portrait mode so that we get two rows of 4 rather than 8 rows across. Right now those "finished piles" are REALLY tiny and hard to see. And there's a ton of screen realestate at the bottom when the iPhone is turned to portrait mode. No reason not to utilize that space. It'd move the game from 4 to 5 star status to me and allow for a more enjoyable experience.
As for the Rumsfeld thing, yeah, kind of makes me feel weird knowing this now and having paid for it. But meh, still doesn't detract from an overall unique and fun game.
So how does the IAP work here? Is there a simple, one-off full game unlock? Or do you need to pay for X games?
I deleted my comment b/c I agree politics have no place here. I love history, I love Churchill & I love this game! I want to help this developer keep improving this app.
Is it only me or does the game go through your battery like nothing else? This is both on an iPad mini 2 and on an iPhone 6S+ Also are the campaign deals supposed to be solvable? Paid for the full game on account of the money going to vets but have not been able to finish a single campaign deal...
Yeah this game is hard as hell. I can't imagine working on this during a war and not ending up even more frustrated
Shockingly I managed to completely clear my first game. I'm stunned and baffled that happened. Probably be the last time. Great game guys.
I agree the battery drain is real. I have also failed all my tries haha....good thing I didn't have to save the free world.
I really enjoy the game play and concepts in this version of solitaire but it is frustratingly difficult. Is anyone having any success with the campaign and can you provide any non-obvious tips? My only explanation for my lack of success is that I am playing wrong ;-).
I thought so too, but it's ok; this game is designed to be "fiendishly difficult". Even though the devs have made the easy level easier I have yet to win a game, but I do clear more cards than before. To quote Churchill - "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm". On that basis I'm fairly successful. Apparently, expert players would expect to win one in four games, so it seems winning is possible. Update: Finally won the first of the easy campaign
Amazing game- I am addicted! Hello everyone, I recently started playing ChurchillSolitaire and totally love it! I'm very impressed that this game was the work of 2 people! Thus far this week, I have humbly made it to Captain status by avoiding the following glitches: 1) Cards (including Ace cards and others as well) not sticking to the top right hand corner: I either leave the game for an hour or so, or restart my mobile device- then the cards stick correctly again 2) Cards not sticking in serial succession in the main body: I touch and pull the card, and then the target card separately individually, then attempt to stick them and they lock into place Other things I've noticed: a) I play much better when not following the hint list in the demo version. The hint list does not see all the underlying events in the game that can be manipulated and only chooses the superficial surface movements. The paid version which I have does not have hints and I prefer it that way b) The #001 Deal in the campaign on Easy level (of the paid version) is incredibly difficult. I have still not figured out how to pass this deal as the result always end up in chaos and unstickable cards. However, Deal #4 was much easier and I learned a few things: each campaign has a particular strategy: wiping out all the unknown cards in the very beginning leads to better success or else results in a clusterf*ck. In some Deals, it is better to stack up rows without Kings as high as possible in succession while in others, it is better to keep the Kings fully stacked. Also some Deals it is better to stack 3 cards in succession at a time, and move them sideways while in others it is better to stack them up as high as possible. Some other notes: [*]Work on implementing logic that lets users know when they are out of moves. I don't think this is really necessary IMHO. You basically know when you're out of moves when you see the chaos of uncleared cards lol I don't really consider myself an app geek- although I used for work for a game development company. However, I really love this game! It would be great to see more games from this particular developer! Amararata
