New Screenshots of the Graveyard and Swamp Hi all! The development of Chop Chop Caveman is progressing well and is on track to be published in November. Here are some new screenshots of the game! About to stomp Teri the pterodactyl: Break stuff, solve puzzle: Caveman celebrating the end of level: And a preview of the new world, the Swamp: Hope you enjoy this stuff! If you have any comments, suggestions, requests, etc. please let me know and we'll see what we can do Cheers!
They're similar but not quite the same. You touch where you want to go, above to jump, below to stomp, etc. But the Caveman isn't as "bouncy" as the Ninja. So usually, you'll only have to hit enemies once to kill them. The two main attacks are a charge (run and headbutt) and a stomp (jumping over them and smashing down). But some enemies have defenses, so you must use the correct attack to kill them. For example, if an enemy has spikes on top, you can't stomp him. Also, if an enemy has spikes in front, you might only be able to charge him from behind. But yeah, we've kept the "no virtual dpad" approach and there are some improvements, like a visual target that tells you what the Caveman is attacking currently, etc. Cheers!
can you tell me what's the difference going to be in gameplay between this and ninja, besides the obvious differences
Beautiful screens. Really waiting for this after the release of Reckless Racing and Samurai II today.
Chop Chop Caveman has a higher number of levels, but they are shorter. There are physics puzzles in a lot of the levels. Also, you can pick up objects, carry them and throw them. In addition to that, the Caveman is not as "bouncy" as the Ninja, so fights are resolved more "quickly" (one well-placed hit is sufficient to send your enemy flying or to squish him into the ground). You can't blindly attack an enemy and you have to consider its defense a bit more. Finally, the Caveman can't jump off walls like the Ninja, which is why sometimes you'll have to use your wit instead of jumping repeatedly up a wall, for example. But still, people familiar with Chop Chop Ninja will find themselves at ease quickly in Chop Chop Caveman. Oh, and Chop Chop Caveman also has a competitive scoring system where you can play levels again to try to improve your score. We'll try to have both OpenFeint and Game Center in the game. Hopefully in the first release but at worst in the first update.
Splash/Loading Screens Some screens I wanted to share, which might be used for the game's splash screen or for loading screens: The Caveman running after Rex: The Caveman stomping Rex in front of Spike, Pug and Tino: Poor Rex... That's going to leave a mark
Achievements The development of Chop Chop Caveman is wrapping up and we will be sending it to Apple next week. We've added support through OpenFeint and Game Center for achievements and leaderboards. Here's a preview of the initial list of achievements: Cheers!
