Thanks again for the promo code!

The gameplay concept is nice but the controls and character movements are a bit sluggish and the single directionality of the arrow limits the overall potential. I have only made it through the first 3 levels, but I am not really motivated to continue on...

As far as the design goes, I am not really digging the look and feel, the artsy background images clash with the characters. post-impressionism + iphone = blah.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your comment.
The controls need a little getting used to. As you can see in the many positive reviews we've received on the App Store- people get used to them very quickly.
The arrow thing is supposed to work this way...if you could shoot in any direction, the game would become too easy.

About the artwork- I cannot comment...it's all about different tastes...some people love it, some don't... just like any other art ;)

    Regards,
    Iliya

    Cramzy -
I got one of the initial codes, but did not post. I know its bad form, but I had a sudden "emergency", and then forgot to come back and post.

    However, that being said -

Overall it is a nice design. Things are well laid out. I don't have any problems with the character as other have. Backround seems fine to me. Rewards fall at a good speed, balls act predictably. Chippy moves at an appropriate speed. Arrows fire at appropriate speed. Backround noises are fine.
Main problem that makes the game difficult to play is control issues -

Accelerometer - Chippy does not always respond quickly enough when quickly tilting back and forth, and small changes in tilt don't make him move at all. Have to have this precise to make it fun, not frustrating.

Finger controls - I know this was a conscious decision to make the movement controls together - but makes it virtually unplayable for me. I can't hold my iPhone on just one side. Put the left and right movement controls at the sides, and fire in the middle - or at least have an option for that. Again, control is everything with these games as you know.

I could not get past level 3, so I don't know what furthter things await. Comments about not being able to fire in different directions and that Chippy does not move fast enough obviously come from people that have not played these type of games before. But - precision of Chippy is KEY!! Also, hit detection seems to be pretty good, make sure that is REALLY tight, again you don't want people dying when the ball is just "close" to Chippy - people will give up quickly if the game is taking cheap shots. Best of luck with your development. I am a bubble trouble fan. My 15 y/o son is very good at it actually getting to the last level, and he had similar comments about your game.
