I had a little 1 next to my "Applications" section, so I checked it out and went to update my one app. I realized I had to update like 10 apps (I havent done it in a while), so I just clicked "Download All Free Updates." Next thing I know, instead of downloading the updates, it jumps to my Download tab then it starts downloading "Aurora Feint II: Lite." I have no clue where this game came from or why it started downloading (never seen it in my life), so I jumped back to my Applications and realized my account when from $26.99 to $20.99. What happened? It never did download my "free" updates either...and I paused the "lite" app/game download cause I dont want it, plus if its lite it should be free right? It will take a couple days to see what happened from viewing my purchase history, but I have already reported a problem because I never bought anything. Edit: I have looked at my purchase history, THERE IS NOTHING YET. This happened only today. Thanks on the update on the hacker incident, I'm using credit on my giftcard btw, not a credit card, but I doubt someone "bought" my card and only used $6 (I've had the code redeemed since December, its not like I redeemed it today with $6 missing). PS: I searched up the game it randomly downloaded on my iTunes, Aurora Feint II: Lite, and there is no such thing in the App Store...there is only Aurora Feint II:The Arena (for $5, not $6). As of now, it looks like it was a iTunes screw-up. Thanks for all the help.
That's very strange. It could just be iTunes updating from a while ago, when you don't remember downloading a $6 app. iTunes can sometimes be delayed by a few weeks in some cases
that happened to me one time and i reported it and they sent me a code/coupon with the amount i lost....hope they give the same thing to you it really sucks
Made you bought apps on your iDevice and in itunes it said "your credit balance is out of date" and then refreshed it. Happens to me all the time whenever I download stuff on my phone then go into itunes to buy something. (and yes, downloading free updates counts, it will ask you to refresh you balance first)
k I was just worried that someone hacked my account or if other people experienced this same problem. I havent bought an app for about a month, and I got my receipt for it. I'm just going to wait to see what iTunes charged me for then get down to business.
Same problem here, seems the balance amount is delayed at times. If in doubt go into the Store-View my account option and look at your list of purchases.
The iTunes gift card algorithm was recently hacked though. http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/03/10/itunes-gift-card-algorithm-hacked-20000-card-for-260
they make $200 gift cards?!?!?! but if someone were to hack your account (kudos to that hacker) he'd probably go for the credit card info and make some serious purchases instead of downloading $6 worth of apps he can't get.
This has happened to me, give apple a shout, especially if nothing is showing up in the purchase history, they're usually pretty good about this sort of thing.
How long does it take to report a problem? I went to my payment history and I have not yet received the receipt for this mysterious purchase. On the 17th I clicked "Report a Problem" in my purchase history, and I have yet to here from Apple. How do I contact them about this?
