Deluxe, Premium, Platinum version with little added content? What's next, $1 per 10 minute of play a la Astro Ranch? At worst they should've made it DLC and not a brand new game. The fact that the devs endlessly bump the thread with fake accounts doesn't help at all.
It looks like they've somewhat fixed the framerate slowdown, on iphone 4 at least, that made the thing slow down whenever a spell was cast. I love you squeenix & Media Vision.
Let's play fill in the blank! If I don't ________ something... Eluca will be killed. If I don't puke something... Eluca will be killed.
Am I missing something or am I just terrible at this game? So I was cruising through pretty easily in the very beginning but then when I hit lvl 20 or 21 and I'm in the lvl 10-20 first area I'm coming up against lvl 18-20 giant orange cats (or salamanders, can't remember) and if there are 3 of them or 2+1 of another enemy, then it's a really tough battle it seems and I've died at least once and come close to death a couple of times. What am I doing wrong? With multiple enemies I usually don't pair up until there's only one left to avoid damage to both my teamates. I don't see a need for a lot of spells b/c usually in those fights the enemy hasn't cast a spell to be weak to any type of magic. Also, is there any reason to fight a boss at a higher level or could I just stick to the lvl 1-10 boss and breeze through? I noticed after defeating the first boss on the first lvl that he then didn't appear on lvl 11-20 in that same area. I just beat the 2nd boss for the first ring, again only did it on lvl 1-10 so I easily 3 hit him to take him down. But am I missing any gear or spells by doing it that way? Thanks
It's pretty normal, really. There will always be one or two types of enemies that are tough on your characters especially on early levels. But after you reach 50+, you're practically a god over any type of enemy. So for your salamander problem, I suggest you escape everytime you see them and fight other monsters until you're a good 10 levels over the salamander, coz only then can you fight them without worrying about your dear life.
FINALLY picked up this game, and I'm loving it! It's my first time playing a Square RPG, though, even though FFVII was the hotness back when I was in grade school. I got through the first half of the first dungeon pretty easily, but now that I'm encountering level 10 and 11 enemies (especially those slug things), it's becoming more of a struggle, and I end up having to replay the whole second half of the dungeon after I die. Is there a bit of a learning curve for the game? Can you guys suggest any strategies for a beginner player like me? Thanks!
I've always heard the game was too easy, but thats just what I've heard. Haven't got the game yet (waiting for it to drop down to $9.99 or lower). One question I have for people that has played the game is how good is the story? I hear pretty good things about the story but it it iPhone good or just good?
I acutally found the game to be a breeze. In my first playthrough, I made the stupid mistake of grinding, and it took me only about 3 or 4 hits to defeat the final boss. ...So basically my tip is to not grind too much. It ruins all of the fun and challenge. Edit: The story is good, but you have to play through the same game 2 or 4 times (one time for each pair of characters, but I don't remember how many pairs there are anymore) to see the real ending.
There are 2 endings for each pair (4 pairs total) plus one final bonus ending after you finish them all. Make sure you don't miss them especially the last 2 pairs.
It keeps your interest and I think it's good. Some couples stories are better than others, but it's still worth it.
that's the problem though. It's not that it's separate stories. (I'm sure you know this but I don't want to mislead the person who asked the question). The story is actually one large story told in different perspectives. Chaos Rings was written by a professional japanese novelist. The game seems to be shallow and not terribly exciting at first, but as you play through the game with different couples you start to learn more and more about what is really going on. I'm very picky with continuity errors and such, and I thought I found some huge plot holes in the story... I was wrong. The story is perfectly written. The story (and the music) was actually my favorite part of Chaos Rings; those people who said the story sucked and it was super cliche either: -Did not get 100% progress on the game -Did not bother reading everything the game had to offer Trust me out of all the original iphone titles in the appstore Chaos Rings wins for best story. I challenge people to prove me wrong
If you haven't played the last 2 couples yet I highly advise to play Ayura first and save playing Olgar as the very last couple. Trust me on this as I had played Olgar before Ayura and there were some *major* plot spoilage that occurred while playing Olgar concerning Ayura - enough so that it almost ruined playing Ayura and Mana for me as I knew some things before the characters did about their natures. And has anyone else discovered the secret to leveling up fast once your around level 70 or so? There are some random fights in one of the dungeons where you can get 200k exp per fight if you know how to do it...
