yer i just realised i was being a bit of a numpty and started to grind exp back in dungeon 1 but just walking through it again instead of hopping back to camp and skipping. by straight playing you dont get enough exp in the 1st zone to cope with the next lava zone. matters made worse by the game informing me the other team have the ring and i should hurry up argh!
i bought all available upgrades at the store to help me woot Sexy Pose skill 10% off store but i play lvl 1-10, 11-20 i die i got a dragon scale from the boss in the first dungeon but don't see it?
2nd Puzzle Room Sorry if this has been posted in this thread already, couldn't find it... Can someone tell me how to beat 2nd puzzle room? Both the 4th (and last) crystal and the exit seem to be on the far side, where there is no blue tile to "switch" with. I'm a little embarrassed getting stuck on what is most likely intended as a "primer" or "practice" puzzle, all of 15 minutes into the game, but I don't see a way... Maybe I'm missing something about these puzzles altogether? Thanks for any help!
I'm a live and let live kind of guy, but I can't let this pass up. I can understand why people like Crisis Core -- it has real characters, it tells a story that fills in the gaps of one of the most beloved RPG epics of all time. I think the combat combines the worst aspects of action RPGs with the worst aspects of turn-based RPGs into a big vortex of suck, but I can see how others would disagree. I think the cut scenes are as ridiculously long an bombastic as the worst anime, but that could just be me. But for the life of me I cannot even begin to understand what the hell people see in Dissidia. To me, it's worst piece of hackery Square Enix has ever released. It's like a Rob Liefield comic book: all poses and zero substance, and the single least satisfying fighting game I've ever played. Is Chaos Circles better than Dissidia? That's not even a real question. Heck, Minigore is better than Dissidia. Man, it felt good to get that off my chest.
Ooops, accidental 2nd post, forgive me, edit wouldn't let me delete entirely... But might as well bump for help on 2nd puzzle, others seem to be havin' this prob
I had trouble with this and posted the same question. I finally figured it out that you can also switch places with the tiles that the gems are on as well. Once I figured this out I switched to the last gem stone. Then switched with one of the blue tiles, which put me back on track to get the last gem stone. Switched a final time with the blue tile used earlier to get back on the side of the exit.
I'm a bit surprised that none of the hard core here haven't beaten the game with their 1st character yet
Nope, definitely not an ugly mess! More pixellation for sure at 2x, but it remains pretty good-looking.
Well I've played a bit and won't go over everything that others have mentioned as far as graphics, story, etc. Also keep in mind I've played all the FF games, with IX and X being my favorites. I liked CC more for the story than the gameplay (which really kinda sucked IMO). My favorite RPG by far (consoles included) is Planescape:Torment-that is the pinnacl of storytelling and gameplay for me. With that said, absolutely love this game; love the combat, the gene system, the ability to use duo combos, the different story lines for each couple. My one complaint are the puzzles. I get through them okay (though my mind isn't geared for logic puzzled especially), but they strike me as filler-a way to lengthen the game, which I feel are unneeded. The directions (for the puzzles) in game quite frankly could use some work. I'd be happy if they weren't even there, as I find them an annoyance that dampens my overall enthusiasm for the game as a whole. I applaud SE for trying something a bit different and adding another gameplay element into CR, but for me, it doesn't work. The characters, story, combat are all great and just about enough to make me deal with the puzzles but I don't like'em. Your mileage will vary of course, but for me they keep the game from being perfect.
Applause! My feeling exactly. Puzzles break the rhythm of the game for me in terms of both combat and story.
This is nothing like street fighter. it is a turn-based rpg with a heavy emphasis on battle strategy. That in no way makes it like a fighting game. I love in-game puzzles like in zelda or metroid. But I agree that these feel out of place, almost like a mini-game. In zelda or metroid the puzzles are built into the game but these feel completely disconnected. But I do really enjoy the change of pace and are one of my favorite parts of the game, even if I think they could have been implemented better.
Agreed about Zelda and Metroid, the puzzles in those games are key components of their gameplay-they serve a purpose, but the puzzles here, so far, don't. It's a change of pace, but it disconnects me from the story, which is one of the main reasons I play rpg's.
I think it would be nice if the puzzles in CR were optional instead of forced upon the player. Maybe have them scattered about here and there, and the player gets money for completing them as a bonus, but not compulsory.
I don't understand why people are complaining about the price. If this was released for the Xbox arcade it would be 20 dollars, 30 if it was a PSP game. It's a good price for what turely is one of the best iphone games out there.
