As a proud Barcelona supporter, I'd just like to say that Mourinho is a hypocrite. I hope he never comes to Barcelona. (InPepeWeTrust). As for the horrible Clasicos - you can't expect Clasicos with no fouling or diving! They're classic matches. Anywho - I hope we go through and somehow Schalke beat Man U. p) Realistically though, it's fair to say it will be Barcelona FC vs. Manchester United in the final.
You can't honestly tell me that: A) Pepe deserved a straight red for that foul. It might, at worst, have been a very weak red card. B) Say that Barcelona didn't dive... A LOT, especially Pedro... C) Say Barcelona got away with just as many fouls as Real Madrid did. That being said, Adebayor should've gotten a yellow or even red for that one foul on Messi.
A) The rules state that if you intend to foul a player with studs in the air it's a straight red. B) It's a Clasico. Both teams dive and foul. It's also football... C) Real Madrid got away with more fouls. We hardly fouled, RM were just plain dirty.
If you think RM play better football than Barcelona, then you don't know football - or you watch the Premier League too much. English teams (well they're hardly English, the majority of players are foreign) just lob the ball down the field and hope to score. Barcelona play with the ball with skillful players. Real Madrid are our only competition yet we can still play around them.
Based on current form, yes, Real Madrid are playing better football than Barcelona. Let's take a look at their past three encounters, shall we? La Liga: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona Real Madrid had to play the majority of the second half with 1 less player, yet were able to finish with a draw. Copa del Rey: Real Madrid 1-0 Barcelona Madrid completed dominated the first half, while Barcelona dominated the second half. In the end, Madrid were simply the better side, proving too good in extra-time. UCL: Real Madrid 0-2 Barcelona Worst diving I've seen from any team in history. Dani Alves is the biggest joke ever. At least if you're going to be stretchered off, make sure you don't come back onto the field so people won't know you faked it. So basically, from those 3 matches, the only matches that Barcelona managed not to lose were those when Madrid had to play the majority of the match with 1 less player. The only fair encounter was the Copa del Rey, which showed that Madrid are simply a better side than Barca.
And I do hope that Manchester United make the final, so they would drop points in the EPL for Chelsea to retain our title!
I agree completely. I think Dani Alves is a joke, and I'm Brazilian. Scoring two goals when the other team loses its top defender is not that hard. Messi was diving, Pedro was diving, Felipe Melo was diving, Barcelona as a whole dove more than a team of Synchronized Swimmers...
Well, I'm afraid that's not technically correct. If you intend to foul a player, but made absolutely no contact, then you should only be awarded a yellow card. I know this is out of context, but there are similarities between the deliberate handball and foul rules. A few months ago, in the Manchester United-Wolves game, Paul Scholes deliberately scored a goal with his hands. Even though the handball was deliberate, it was not deemed to be a red card, as the ball did not go into the back of the net. If it had, then it would've been a red card. Simiarly, if you intend to foul a player, but made no contact, then you should not be awarded a red card.
Only about 2 of our players dived, Messi definitely did not. He's an amazing player and won't go down despite the defenders trying to foul him (e.g. second goal). Alves:
It's funny how you seemed to have missed out our 5-0 win and the fact that we're 7-8 points clear in La Liga. Also, the fact that more than half our team played in the World Cup final, and won.
Also, taking off one man doesn't make much of a difference if he isn't important. The only red card that proved important, and right, was Pepe's.
LMAO! If you really think Messi and the rest of Barcelona don't dive, I don't know what games you're watching.
"The red card of Pepe was absolutely fair. The referee was right to give it and thank goodness that I was wearing shin guards." - Dani Alves Lol. Who does this guy think he is? If you weren't wearing shin guards, you still would've been untouched. At least have the decency to admit it.
That's one player. It's funny how you don't acknoweldge who the majority of Spain's national team plays for. ;P
