Thanks Kris, please do that. It doesn't matter how long it takes in review, what matters is that you submitted part of the 1.5 update. One question: does this part include the in depth story mode? Hope you submit it!
You did a great job I particularly enjoy the link pointing right back to this here thread; that was quite thoughtful of you guys!
The site looks great! So when are we finally going to see a game that revolves around your logo monkey? That little guy rocks
We have something in mind. But why don't you guys tell us what you think would be a good game featuring our little monkey?
Okay, here's my thought. Make an RPG where the hero from Sparta gets captured by the Champion Archer. As PocketMonkey, you form a team consisting of a dog named Toto, a parrot named Iago and a bunny with sharp, pointy teeth. You must brave Orc-infested forests, Moskila (note the cross-over) covered swamps and Yeti laden mountains in order to rescue the captive and save the day.
Wow, that is quite an impressive slew of elements to create a diverse game. Would the Pocket Monkey be a battle-axe wielding warrior or a sharp-witted quirky diplomatic jack of all trades?
Actually the Minigore update was rejected awhile ago. There was just 0 communication done by Apple. Therefore it just sat and now we know it was rejected. (The new update crashed at startup)
I don't recall hearing that Minigore had their update rejected. That is unfortunate. Looking forward to them.
Actually, I think he should be wielding a "jack of all trades". It could be a special playing card that's divided into quarters, each quarter having part of a jack of a different suit on it. When he throws the card to the ground a court jester springs out of it and distracts the enemy by doing a comedy act so Pocket Monkey and his crew can sneak around back for the surprise attack.
You should really get into game design. I'm sure that NO ONE else out there has ideas that are as... unique... as yours.
The real question is: would anyone buy a game full of my ideas I've actually dreamed of being in the gaming business since I was in grade school. I'm actually a programmer by trade, and my biggest problem (besides focus) has been finding the right project to work on / people to work with. I'm not the type that can do a project on my own, because while not being a complete perfectionist, I'm not the type of person that could release something with self-made artwork and music, because it would probably cause most users to self-induce other things that aren't politely mentioned on public forums. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that some day my time will come (which makes for some challenging typing, let me tell you).
So are you an iPhone developer or do you have the skills to be an iPhone developer using the tools provided?
No and probably, except that I don't have a Mac at the moment. I tried setting up my PC so I could run Mac OSX, but that didn't work so well for me. I haven't met an environment yet that I couldn't eventually work with progmatically, and seeing as pre-teens seem to be able to handle iPhone development, I'm pretty sure I could too I'm just hoping my machine situation changes one of these days soon.
so wait are you saying that you can only create iphone apps using a mac environment? so on apple's os??? didnt know that...
There are a couple of convoluted ways to get around it, but ultimately you need a Mac to at least make builds for testing on the simulator or an actual device.
We should be submitting Champion Archer Lite by this Friday. You will get a strong feel for the game with a limitation on upgrades and no online functionality. The full version has been in submission for 12 days now. Should be out any day unless it is rejected.
Champion Archer has been rejected due to 1 bad keyword. Changing and resubmitting. Let's hope they have pity on us.
