Anyway, its not me or Sammy you have to be afraid of. Its Remy Antilles. He was THE great player before us two. I'm sure he can easily best either of us if he wants, too bad he isnt playing anymore. I just sent him a message, competition would be so much better up there in the higher places. God I Love this Game, Hail the Dev Cheers.
Very impressive ExileClub! Last week I would never of thought people could break 10 million, then a few days ago I didn't think people would break 100 million. Would it be safe to think that no one will break a score of 1 billion?
I plugged my iPhone into my home theater and turned up the subs... lol I've never had so much excitement linking chains together while shattering my ear drums!
The iPad version, Chain Link HD, version 1.5 was released moments ago that contains all the goodies that the current iPhone release has. This contains an iPad performance improvement that will let it run smoother when there are lots of shapes on the screen and uses the latest iPad OpenFeint.
The iTunes game overview page was refreshed with new games last night and Chain Link Pro is still featured on that page! This time it is under the "What's Hot" listing in iTunes. It is so great to get another week of exposure from Apple. Thanks to everyone here at Touch Arcade for all the great reviews over the past couple of weeks!
I put up a top 5 high score table up on my website for Normal Arcade, Normal Timed and Normal Static. It requires me to manually update it so if you get a new score there will be a delay until you see it on the site. I'll be adding some of the other level types later. http://chainlinkpro.wordpress.com/high-scores/
Yeah, each country has its own iTunes store. If you rate/review an app in iTunes, it is only shown in the country you have an account in. Also, when a new version of the app is released, a user needs to resubmit their rating/review if they want it be used in the average rating for the current release.
Today is the last day to pick up this amazing game for only 99 cents. After tonight, the price will become 1.99 which is still a great deal for everything you get.
I can promise you that you won't feel like you are getting the same type of game you already own. Chain Link offers a different playing experience then both those games. And if you're still on the fence, glance through the thread and read about all the great things people have said about this game so far. Here's just a quick summary of some of the posts in this thread: sammysin: I'd say this is the best game period. kuuushi: GREAT job on this game, not many games after doodle jump have got me completely addicted! cranker: This game is great and deserves more attention. It's a nice pick up and play game. Syao: Indeed it's a great game! Very fun, polished, and addictive. FlyinJ: You really pulled off some super tight design in this game. The overall gameplay is stellar, but the "mission" system you implemented to gain powerups coupled with their persistence through future rounds pushes it over the edge. mikeg123: After watching the video, I bought the game, and it is hard to stop playing it. Great game! HiddenPoohUK: I have to say, having spent literally hundreds on the app store this year that this game is right up there in my top three. It is incredibly addicting - the perfect "one more go" formula and already shaping up to be a classic. JCat: Love this game. Polished, addictive, easy to pick up and play, and rewarding sound effects. loves2spoon: Loving this game! More fun than Geo Spark. ExileClub: This is the One game i will never delete from my iPhone. I am an expert player, but I still discover new tricks each time I play. Pure genius, this game. CzarCastic: This game is genius! Very fun. I bought it based on recommendations here and I'm definitely not disappointed. Touchgamer3g: This definitely ranks very high among my favorite pick up and play games!
If you don't have this game yet, kick yourself in the you know what! Make sure to get the iPad version for .99 cents too! You never know, you might get one *cough*haters*cough! lol One of the top 10 games in the app store for sure. Intense gameplay, great graphics and sounds!
heffdog116, it is good to here that you went for it and you're enjoying your new purchase! With the recent news of the new iPhone software supporting multi-tasking in the upcoming Summer update, I've been working on ways to reduce the memory foot print of the game without sacrificing graphic quality so you can always have Chain Link running in the background to give you quick access to addicting chaining. This involves combining some of the HUD graphics to a single sprite sheet so there is less texture swapping and using texture compression in places where the image quality looks the same. I'm planning to have this be the focus on the next update (v1.6) to go out.
Anyone have any new game modes they'll like to see? One idea is to make a 60 second version of the 200 second game to give people a short burst of fun. Power-ups would spawn faster in the 60 second version. Only goal would be to get a high score. Is that something you guys would like to play?
Sure, sounds interesting. And what about an Insane Static mode with less time available and no quests?
