I gotcha in on the beta. I thinking waiting to add more is a good idea though. I'd like to digest this first set's feedback before deciding to add more testers. Thanks!
Thanks to all the beta testers that have left feedback thus far. It's much appreciated! I've got a couple folks that will be tacked onto the next build push... probably Friday night PST. Thanks!
Where do you want us to provide feedback? I've played the first few levels and it's been great so far!
Feedback is the most convenient via the Test Flight feedback tool. But you can PM or email as well. Of course, effusive praise can be left in this thread.
Great! I'll check out the feedback tool soon for any improvements I find necessary, but for praise I've got a ton! For anyone who is wondering, Cavorite easily meets the standard of the current-day platformers. The controls are spot on, responsive and not too tight and puzzle/timing elements are certainly incorporated with skill. Not only are there a ton of levels, there are three overal environments each constructed magnificently with the pixel style you see in the screenshots that were posted.
Ok beta testers, upon suggestion I've made a TA social group here. I think I invited everyone but PM if I missed you. New build *should* be going out tonight. Then that will probably be it until mid next week. Thanks.
Good job on getting inspiration from Pizza Boy! That platformer is really hard to discover on the App Store but it easily beats LoE, Mos Speedrun, and all the other platformers on the iOS imo.
Hey all, I just pushed out the 0.95 "beta" of Cavorite to the testers. I tried to add all who asked into the beta list. But if you didn't get the Test Flight email today, then I won't be able to get you in this round. This will be the last beta until the first "release candidate," which should be ready sometime next week. My schedule is a little bit pushed back. I'm looking at a late submission to IndieCade (June 15) as a target, with submission to Apple at the same time. I'd hoped to sync up with the month's full moon, but it will likely be a late June release. Thanks!
Beta v0.96 went out to testers recently. It was a pretty hefty update. I decided the updates were major enough to get feedback earlier than later. I'm still on track to push to Apple before June 15. Here's what the new UI looks like below. I've got about a dozen more updates and then Cavorite will be ready to fly.
I'm a big fan of Professor Fizzwizzle, so I'll be keeping an eye on this. One question: Are there lives? Do you die and have to start all over? Or is it like Fizzwizzle where you can play around with things until you work them out? Cheers.
You can die and the level will restart. There's no limit to deaths though and you'll actually have the option to skip the level if you die or retry 5 times. It's probably the closest to 'Splosion Man in this regard -- the levels let you experiment for the most part, but some aren't so forgiving.
