Each level is randomly generated so no two games are the same. ---- Cavern was full of ancient treasure which surface people dug up to keep their high standards of living. Caves were inhabited by hostile creatures of the nether but Mystery Object of the surface kept the evil weak with it's power. Somehow, creatures of the deep managed to steal the Mystery Object and took it to the deepest levels of the Cavern. Now You, the Hero, must retrieve it before it's powers are used against the Surface! Features: •Shops to buy equipment and sell treasure •Three characters to play: Fighter : strong melee character. Adventurer : specialises in bows. Mystic : uses wands and scrolls. •Vintage game art by DeBray Bailey •16 randomly generated dungeons •In-game tutorial •Over 40 different monsters •Randomized item attributes and special unique items. •Online Highscores and ranking for each game played. •Saves your exact game state when receiving call or switching to another app. •Juicy sound effects. •Permadeath Information Seller:Sami Sierla Genre:Adventure, Role Playing Release:Dec 18, 2009 Updated:Oct 25, 2021 Version:2.6.5 Size:114.2 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (24) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal This will be the best $1.99 you spend all week; I highly recommend Cavern. Cavern is a legacy roguelike that just received a complete code re-write. It now includes innovative new features like neutral or alley NPCs, randomized items, and secret chambers as well as being Universal and featuring 5G widescreen support. The developer, Soulinhki, has been very active here and recently held a contest letting users write some ring/amulet descriptions in the game. On sale "for the rest of this week;" but get it now. Highly recommended. paradsecar Well-Known Member Jun 27, 2012 104 0 0 #3 paradsecar, May 7, 2013 Not only my favorite rogue-like, but one of my all-time favorites on iOS. The randomly generated maps, limited resources, and permadeath force you to consider your moves carefully. If you like rogue-likes or need a jumping off point to get into the genre, this is your game. Just don't go at it like Dungeon Hunter. Think Demon's Souls: slow and steady wins the race. mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #4 mrbiggles, May 7, 2013 $1 waiting looks classic... think i'll wait see if it hits $1 undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #5 undeadcow, May 7, 2013 Part of me can understand that logic; but the other part of me is proud to support quality indie games on iOS. This developer spent a great deal of time totally re-coding his game to add improvements and keep it fresh so now just wants $1.99 for that sort of energy and commitment (sure we can't just throw money at people just because they're hard working; the game is great too). This. Exactly this. It isn't an ea game. I'm not expecting people to give to charity, but when it's a niche game that's this awesome.. I can't convince the unconvinceable. C'mon people! Let's support quality so devs like this can still exist and lovingly crafted games still get to us. Kudos to the dev on the overhaul, it vastly improved the game! Walk by town NPC then tap on them should work. Bumping isn't necessary, tap. ArtNJ Well-Known Member Jul 13, 2009 3,212 29 48 New Jersey #16 ArtNJ, May 8, 2013 Doesnt work for me. It never did. I did get it to work in one game, forget how I did it. It seemed that maybe one shop keeper worked, but not others. Edit: Wait, do they only buy stuff within their area? If you tap on her the sell option should popup. You do have to be standing within her shop room. soulinhki Well-Known Member Dec 19, 2009 201 0 0 #18 soulinhki, May 9, 2013 Last edited: May 9, 2013 There is actually another shopkeeper that buys stuff, on level 14.
