I was cold, so I lit a small, controllable fire in the starting shelter once. Sleepy, I figured my one open window would be fine to exhaust the smoke and CO, so I laid down two spaces from my small campfire and went to sleep. I awoke in an inferno, with flaming zeds crashing about the room, five more busting in the walls like the kool-aid man. Burned badly, and in horrible pain, I charged headlong through a windowcutting myself in three locationsand ran bleeding into the view of the jabberwock waiting outside. I can only hope my eventual real death will be half as amusing as this was
Decided to delete my guide on the previous page and repost it here. Feel free to suggest improvements, or add to it. I'm sure a lot of what I do is less than optimal.
Also, since nobody have ever to report this problem...on this forum at least Holding one finger for the multiple keystrokes will override the 1 keystroke per keyboard for the rest of time until you restart the app over again. On the other note, making your city size to 5 will make the game load waaaay longer (unsurprisingly) than usual. P.S I still want to know how to operate/fire a tank gun P.S.S I should burning and call upon Smokey the Bear! P.S.S.S He exists!
Many lulz can be had with a pile of rags and a lighter. Kite zeds into a bush full of rags, set fire to it, and run away cackling.
Two things: 1) you dkn't have to swipe up from bottom. Anywhere is fine. 2) you can set control center to only work outside of apps or in app swicher. It's in settings somewhere.
Here is another thing I sadly found, Zombie and moose never mixed well, just when you thought you killed a group of zeds and on the way you spotted a moose? Yep, your dead. Got this situation happen and died....so I savescumed, best decision of my life.
For those who care about supporting for Bluetooth keyboard, I have started working on it. Currently it looks fine. I guess I can even hide the on screen controls if external keyboard is detected.
"Oh hey! Did you just poured gasoline all over a car, lit it on fire and drove into a zombie horde and got badly wounded with a jabberwock and moose nearby and to top it all of...a necromancer?" "Yeah...why game?" "Did you also enabled autosave every x turns also?" "Yeah why?" "Well this is most perfect of time to save!"
Played around with the terminal height and width to the size of 1024x768 (IPad screen size), got into tutorial mode, broke the wall, got into a car and test the performance of my IPad to the max by going through a medium town filled with zeds, a FEMA camp, killed many with the car and so far...it worked better than I expected. Only to end with a unexpected crash at the end however. Also is the fact that the terminal size and by using the 32size tileset, the end result is quite nice since it gives a very good LoS (Line of sight) once fully zoom out and when fully zoomed in however, it's close enough to see the details and just far enough to give the awareness needed. On the other hand...[a]applied the machete and got this prompt where I could make zombies as a slave? P.S Tutorial mode is more fun and a good performance test to do P.S.S I crashed my car and got surrounded by zeds in my car so many times...I was lucky that there was no hulks around
I have firmly settled on RetroASCII30 on both iphone 6 and ipad mini 2. I know I mentioned the 20px version a few pages back but it's a little too small over the long run. Also default terminal size and width as it's easiest on the eyes. Viewing area be damned, I need beauty
Now if only I can set it up with my custom font settings that I use when on my Mac. mmmm. It's probably possible if FileSharing is enabled, but it's about mustering up the effort.
"One does not simply go default in the game Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead and be absolutely be satisfied with it"
I used this http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=10361.0 But only changed the main game window font to Square-SmallcapsRM, 14 size, didn't change the other sections. Just coppied over Square-SmallcapsRM.ttf, and tweaked the fonts file with the new name and size.
