I'd hardly call myself a lurker. I think I have given a lot -- the trapdoor glitch alone was good enough for hundreds of points, and I have told everyone about that who has asked me. And I'm sure they in turn told others.

I call it maintaining a small edge to remain #1. My definition of lurking are the people who don't sign up for a TA account, yet read and obtain solutions without sharing anything themselves. That's fine as some people don't care to participate in public forums.
Come on mike you can open up too. feel the love share something with everyone and giving a score does not tell everyone how it's done
Also just to add I had button glitch before found this place...... Someone posted it on YouTube jumped me up the boards loads as was floundering at 30800 at the time
I don't mind that people keep their stuff to themselves. If they want to throw me a bone, cool, if I can help them out, that's cool too, but I think it's silly to expect everyone to spill their guts, what fun would it be if we all sat at 46,400 together?
Just saying the numbers is easy getting them is a different kettle of fish I'm way down on the timing levels that's why I cant break the top ten come on you can share too it's easy just put it out there don't be shy lol
Where you got the trapdoor glitch wasn't my point. I fully assumed I wasn't the only one to discover that. I'm just refuting your point that all of the top 10 players are lurkers, as I think lurking is a completely different beast. I was trying to point out that I have shared the trapdoor glitch, posted ALL of my points when I reach 32500, and have given out numerous hints, tips, and solutions (including screen shots). So I would hardly call that "lurking".
Opening up? I think part of the fun is fishing, offering, trading. Emailing and helping others. Especially when you have some hidden points... Although it's time-consuming! It has nothing to do with wanting to be the number 1, cause that is never going to happen. And in the end we will all be at the same scores, this way it will take only a little longer. As Pappnase said in the past: It's only a game. Don't take it so serious! But if the majority wants to open up, I'll follow. For now: my vote is ney... And for what it's worth: Most of the help I got, I got from a few people in the top 15. So I wouldn't call them lurkers.... Including myself. Anyway, on 70 levels I have only 15 "hidden points". So what are we really talking about?

Except for a select few, the elite seem unwilling to share with us less dedicated players. You all seem exceptionally helpful to one another, but when someone with less of an addiction then the top echelon, like me, help seems rare. Granted, I don't have many "high" scores only 45,403 to trade, but I lost all of my scores and pleading for help only got two responses and one still hasn't helped me any and only one level from the other. I've asked several questions with absolutely no responses. I feel this forum is great, but only for the top 10 or so, which I was a member of before I lost all my scores. Don't take this too harshly, I still admire all you guys (and gals), but I've gotten most of my help from lurking. By the way, mikeg is by no definition a lurker. Vent over.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I understand the frustration, and I'm sorry I have missed some of your requests, but I have a hard enough time keeping up with this forum, and PMs, and private emails -- not to mention life with my 17 month old son. And I have tried hard to respond to everyone in a timely fashion. But I would have to disagree about this forum only helping the top 10. I have had so many requests from new members to this forum that tell me they are so far behind -- I can't tell you how many times I've described the trapdoor glitch, and all of the "BIG" levels like 27, 29, and 36, DRN006, and A Matter of Angles just to name a few. And a lot of those descriptions, hints, and screen shots have been with nothing in return. I'll continue to keep an eye out for other requests in this forum, but sometimes I just don't have the time to respond, and posts are then easily forgotten.

What a discussion. My recommendation to those feeling underpriviledged is to ask explicitly what they want. I prefer PM though. I share quite a lot though I have some levels which I can't give cause they are not mine. I know that almost all of the top ten have given loads of points. Keeping a few points in secrecy is part of the game. I have less than 20 in that category many of which are meagre fruits of hours of tweaking. Big deal? mjg, if you need more just ask please. P
