Papp, I was thinking. You got 540 on #49 quite soon after restart. Was that on the iP5? In that case, this might be another clue for the altered scoring mechanism. What do you think? Maybe you should play for 5 min and get 541 :-/
Hi dg, could you perhaps explain how the score is computed. Do you count pixels, diagonals, etc. ? We were wondering. Sometimes the drawn path seems shorter, while the score is not better. Many thanks, would be appreciated.
Hi catters, cy@n pointed out that the second arrow of the sets I posted lately are not identical. Therefore the question arose whether that explains the different results on ip 4 and ip 5. That can be ruled out too. In fact there are (at least) 6 solutions for level 43 with 551 points on ip 4 and 550 points on ip5. You may click on thumbnails to enlarge pics (thank you cy@n! for imgur). Click again for original size. First the positions for ip4. The first arrow may be moved 3 pixels up/down, the second arrow 2 pixels left/right. Now the same positions for ip5. All those positions result in 550 points only on ip 5. all pics above in one neat album folder I start to like imgur. Ceterum censeo Iphone 5 is worthless if Cat Physics does not run correctly.
And for those who wonder whether there are also several solutions with 551 for ip 3gs I have added 4 ss here at imgur. (Did I mention that I like imgur?) I had no time to fumble with the arrows in order to find the 2 remaining ones. But I am sure that they are there. Ceterum censeo Iphone 5 is worthless if Cat Physics does not run correctly.
I spoke to DG and this is what I received: We're just in the final phase of preparing the next DG release, so we won't dig deeper into the CP scoring issue for the next few weeks or so. However, we have had a brief discussion on the iPhone 5 scoring bug here and also already uploaded a new build of Cat Physics. The update was for addressing the "Arrows to my best" feature, but we also tried changing a few compiler settings. While they most likely won't affect the scoring difference, we figured it wouldn't hurt to e.g. remove the new ARM v7S (iPhone 5 specific) optimizations and hoping the iPhone 5 would revert back to handling floating point operations more similar to earlier devices. Long shot? Yup! Will it work? Probably not, but without actual research we figured atl it was worth the try for now. OK a new release is important to keep the money rolling. Fair enough. Hope they remember the CP bug once the new game is released. I am sure though that the compiler switches don't change anything because everybody was using the old version anyway. Now let's wait what v1.23 brings once it is approved. Still fighting the bleeding mushroom. Papp
OK. 1.23 is out and works fine, also the normal screen feature is what we need. Guess what, it does not fix the scores issue. Shoot.
Glad to see the forum here is still alive. What app are people using to compare screenshots since iPhoto no longer provides the arrow feature it once did. I was using the Screenshots app but it no longer works on my IPad. Some update must have messed it up. Thanks!
As always, my recommendation is Screenshot Journal by UIForge. It is not free but it is a great app which separates your SS from your other pics. And it has got the precious arrows. Is that the screenshots app you mean? I just tested it on the iPad3 and it runs smoothly under 5.1.1. It does crash frequently, in particular after a new ss has been made, also on the iPhone, but it always comes back and the shots are intact.
i use artstudio because it provides phozoshop compatible layers screenshot journal is recommended by others nice to see u again
Papp: Yeah, Screenshot Journal is what I have on my iPhone 5 and my iPad 3. Not sure why its not collecting any of the screenshots on my iPad. Congrats on HTGO. And I too have been experiencing the point issues on certain levels with my iPhone 5. Shouldn't we be getting more points rather than less points!!! Wow. Im so out of practice. Tried windmills again. Use to be able to move one pixel at a time with no problem. Now if I touch an arrow it's all over the place. Lol. Look out wiz I might accidentally knock out 11. Lol. NOT!!!
