Haha that's pretty epic. I was actually wondering about the whole arrow on top thing today... Thing is though, mike has said he never used these arrow analyzing methods so I'm not sure it actually does make a difference. Surely each arrows would just be made to move freely in a certain layer with the layer created first being the layer below all other arrows and so on... You gotta remember that copying something or emailing a pic will distort the original pic very slightly... Taking a screenshot will also do that.
You most probably don't need the arrow thing if you do all your levels yourself. There is probably a best position for either combination of arrows. But should you decide to share a level, it does definitely not work for #39 and #44 without being able to identify the arrows. And, you may be right with the distortion though I doubt that emailing will do any harm to a pic. But it is possible to see the original pixels in the screenshot which is all you need because all input can only be done with pixel precision. Sort of digitisation which is happening, so the distortion doesn't count at all. P.S. sorry for bothering everybody with this nitpicking stuff. Error analysis and finding solutions is my daily job.
I also find in interesting that the ball gets released at different speeds (which I know has been discussed before) if you restart the level quickly. I was actually playing with that when I hit the top score on the bridge by accident. I have made the global top 20 but think my stay will be shortlived. However I have gone up hugely in my 20 year old daughter's estimation and she is now hooked and spreading the word amongst friends but I'm refusing to show her all the tricks at the moment! Also have to say that this is the first game of this type I've played for ages but it really is challenging!
Trust me, after thinking about the principles while driving to work this took me less than half an hour including typing the post. As I said, I do such things for a living. However, you are completely right. Too much catting.
Snake - level 20 Could I ask how it is possible to get higher than 712/713/714 on Snake. It there something I'm missing? -It doesn't seem to be about timing - the ball either goes in off the first post or it doesn't! Cheers StJohn 31,491 and struggling!
Yep - I was going great guns - up to 12th. But a few days back in real life and I've slipped to 15th. It may sound like sacrilege in this company, but I'm not convinced I have the patience to keep nudging arrows a pixel at a time round the screen indefinitely. Points are now so hard to come by that I think I'm going to be overtaken by many more soon, since a good day for me is now finding 10 extra points. It's only the competition with my work colleague (SkinsUK) that's keeping me at it now...
Lowscore Actually the countdown stops at 1. So you'd never get a negative score. The "lowscore" of 1 point is, beside in Tunnel Toss, also possible in Windmills & Down the Drain and possibly in Left = Right where I got down to 23... I hope the coming update has an "Arrows to my worst"-Button ps I actually haven't played in a week but kept reading the forum. Like Shaun, I admit: I love u guys (and dolls)
That would actually be really cool! Have a lowest score mode and leaderboard. That would definitely help to mix things up a bit and add to the replayability.
My wife has just sent me this pic which should illustrate previously discussed mental disorders. See also the head loupe in the middle of my mess.
Does anybody know if somebody actually has 650 on Windows, or is it just a rumour that has not been substantiated
Nope! You have to tweak them, and get a specific bounce off the rock that the top glass is sitting on top of.
