Below is some email correspondence I had with Donut games: My question: Regarding Cat Physics: Is it possible to release the actual max scores possible on the cat physic levels. I'm in the top 15 in the world with other mad catters and releasing the true max scores would bring back many people to the game to search out those points. I have my own known max scores based on other catters scores gotten, and that method is topping out at the moment. It would be a great incentive if new levels aren't planned in the near future. You can't get higher than 752 for level one. Each level should have a maximum amount of points to be gotten if you place the arrows in their optimum positions. Why is it up to me to reveal? I don't remember being the one stating that I'm here to share and be open. That is an interesting topic, but I can see where DG is coming from. I can't imagine there would be any good way to determine an absolute maximum given the nature of the game. As they said, you'd need some serious computing power to even have a chance of determining the max score That's also what makes games like this fun, because you don't know what the maximum value is. So you can have a level, like the Stick, where we all thought 716 was the max. Tain came along and found that if you wait for the sticks to split, then you can get a 720. And then Pepponne comes along and hits a 721.
It is not at all up to you to reveal. A free country this is. Somebody PMed me once: If only Mike grew up and disclosed his 2 points we'd have another 9 to go after. I sort of second this opinion although I do not care too much because somebody will stumble upon the points anyway. HTGO makes one quite patient. P
Well you would only have another 9 to go after if Wiz grew up too and disclosed his 7 points. I really cant understand what all the fuss is about those 2 points, I mean its hardly 7 is it, surely you would be more excited to find the 7 And before you say I cant understand because I have the 2, I also have the screen for The Stick, but I really cant be bothered to put the effort in for 1 point, or even 2 at this stage. I might regain my enthusiasm for another 7 though
And I could care less about what points get disclosed. I'm not sure what your deal is, but why do you feel this need to keep taking shots at me? Maybe you are the one that needs to grow up and not be so sensitive. I'll leave it at that before you think I'm getting pissed off. This is getting ridiculous. I don't understand why it is all on me. Wiz could disclose his points and everyone would have 7 to go after. Funny thing is that Wiz and Lo wouldn't even be in the top spots if it hadn't been for Garfield disclosing his 6 and my disclosure of Trapdoors (hell, I wouldn't even be in the top spot). But now I'm the bad guy for not revealing my two?!?
It is all very simple. Nobody would be that far without everybody helping each other. To me, it appears that you are in the position of hiding two bl**dy points while hindering everybody else from getting access to another 7 ones And I don't understand why exchanging these 2 for another 7 for everybody else is so frigging difficult. This is not taking shots at you, I'd gladly take these at everybody else so please do not feel personally insulted, I don't mean it. Difficult things in a foreign language. P
First, you paraphrase a PM you received stating that "if Mike grew up", in which you then proceeded to agree with in your next sentence. That sounds like an insult to me. Second, I'm not saying that we haven't all helped each other. I know that as does everyone else. I've stated that many, many, many times. Third, I still don't understand why I AM in this position of hindering everyone. Your logic is flawed. Maybe Wiz is hindering everyone from finding 7 more points AND getting my 2 points. You say you aren't taking shots at me, yet it somehow all falls on my 2 points. I don't see you calling out Wiz here... And for the record, I'm not saying anyone has to divulge their points. I honestly don't care at all. If the points come out great. If they don't, oh well.
this may be a forum suicide but as everyone knows i dont really care what people think i have shared and traded and received points with both mike and wiz and i have been begging both to give up and share but i have to stand on mikes side on this one even though i am mad that he wouldnt trust me with the two points wiz has 7 he could always share at least 5 of them i love cp and everyone has jumped to co even me all it takes is a couple points to get everyone in the hunt again we all owe this to cp the game we love and if anyone take offense to what i am saying tell me and i will make sure not to email you again this is just a game and the best one i know about
And the person that said mike needs to grow up in a pm may have been me but either way wiz is hiding allot more than mike is and i will state this in an open forum mike and wiz and garfield are the best 3 at this game and we all owe allot to all of them but wiz is the one hoarding the most points
wow CP a game, a wonderful game we have all enjoyed, been challenged by and learned from. Let us hope Donut Games will give us another game as clever as CP and engage us so that we don't care about Mike and Wiz's secret points.
I can't keep track of all these scores! But I did have a 590 on 69. At least 5 more points to go. I have to pretty much improve on all levels, but that will come. And that is cool we just surpassed 1000 posts!
my two cents it has been a lot harder for me to stay out of the forum than i thought. the human dynamics in this thread is just far too interesting to not keep taking a look. so please let me just babble for a while. i understand people's sentiments and i would even go so far as saying that they're all completely valid because they're their own and everybody has the right to feel them. these are not sentiments shared by all though, obviously. i think to say that it's just a game won't help downplay what others think of other's actions. and pointing fingers certainly won't help. the decision to keep or share these secret points are for those who found them. we don't have to agree with their choices, same way not all of you might agree with this post, but we do have to respect them. i understand people's demand for these points especially now that not knowing where to look is killing the game if it hasn't already. all good things come to an end. cat physics is sadly no exception. though i would love to just get the screenshots and be amazed by their genius, i know it's only theirs to give. same goes for their scores. some might say that it's not about being on top but about sharing. that may be true. but long after we've all stopped playing this game, the leaderboard will stay and remind us who the top cat is. who wouldn't do or say anything to be that? it is the best game ever after all. cheers! ps. i missed you all! is cover orange where the action is now?
