These cinematics are 23 year old PSX cinematics and while they have aged worse than...I don’t ****ing know...they do nothing, NOTHING to hamper the ageless, flawless perfection of SotN. Give it a buy and then some! For the last decade, all I’ve wanted is to be able to play Symphony of the Night on iOS. I knew it could be done eons ago and I can’t believe this day is finally here. I literally downloaded the game with my heart pulsing like mad and part of me still can’t believe I paid a measly 3 dollars for one of the greatest games of all time. Am I exaggerating? No. I’ve still got goosebumps just looking at the icon, and yet, instead of playing, I’m here defending this because of terrible cinematics. But enough talk... HAVE AT YOU! The cinematics ARE terrible, but they're justifiably bad as a remnant of the generation they came from. Had he actually spent more than half a minute with the game though, I guarantee we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Apple Arcade games are all original titles, not ports. Would have never happened. But yeah, next to the ports of LIMBO, INSIDE, Grim Fandango and Dead Cells, this, IMO, is the best thing to ever happen to iOS. I still can't believe it. Never been more alive. ac166 Well-Known Member May 15, 2014 383 12 18 #10 ac166, Mar 4, 2020 What.... what?! What?! What world is this? 2.99 Controller support? Am I dreaming? But yeah check out the Castlevania games. Used to play this tons in the NES and then Gameboy years. It’s very old skool but it’s kept its kinda look for years. Think fans of the series would go crazy if they changed the main format of the games and how it plays. Symphony vastly changed the "main format of the games and how it plays". The Castlevania series went from fairly straightforward side-scrollers to entirely reinventing the genre (with the help of another rather unknown game called Metroid )...giving birth to what we know today as "Metroidvania". I have to add, even though I've been waiting for this day FOREVER (Well, since KONAMI released the long-gone Puzzle of the Night), I'm glad it took this long. The chance of iOS updates breaking games has considerably gone down in recent years and this already comes with all the modern bells and whistles such as controller support, X device screen support, etc. and the chances of this being abandoned any time soon are slim to none. I would have HATED to get this a decade ago and have to reminisce about SotN being on iOS and it no longer being available. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
