Does optimized for 4S/5 mean it won't run on a 4 at all? I loved the original when I was younger, and the video clip on the last page looks really promising. Also, people are really overstating how hard the game is. I beat it on the Genesis when I was 6, and it was one of the easier games I owned.
I'm really impressed with how good the controls are on my ipad. Smooth and surprisingly precise. You can run along and place a precise landing on a platform the width of Mickey easily. Only played for half an hour, so can't talk about much, but it's beautiful and more than playable on the big screen. Controls are big enough I'd expect it to be comfortable on the ipad mini too. Probably won't play it on my 4S much, though.
Right, tried it out on my 4S now and still able to do some pretty fiddly platforming surprisingly well, though it is a bit easier to miss the buttons. Worth fighting through if that's your desired format. I'll be sticking with the ipad version though. No cloud-syncing, but the joy of the game is in replaying the levels anyway, and it's short enough that it doesn't matter much.
I can't speak to the length, as I've only played it for about 45 minutes, but so far it is fantastic. Just a really well done game with beautiful visuals and wonderful music and voice acting. Nothing about this points to a rushed, shoddy port. So far, the controls have been fine. I'm using the default of a fixed stick and tap to jump. As the game gets more challenging, the controls may become an issue, but so far not at all. I'm not even going to get into the price discussion because you can either afford it or you can't. If you want to wait for a sale, by all means wait. As far as "worth" goes, that's solely opinion, but in mine, it's certainly "worth" 10 bucks.
I will. I'm going to try to d/l it this weekend. It isn't the price holding me back, its the file size. I'm going to have to delete finish and delete either Device 6 or Sword and sworcery to install this,
And with fixed stick/tap, can you tap anywhere or is it a button? Also, the apple throw button? How's that feel?
There are basically two different options: stick (fixed or floating), and jump (tap anywhere on the right side of the screen or dedicated button). The apple throw button works fine. I've had no issues with it at all.
Those starving Indie developers should collaborate with each other, and make better games. I do remember dropping $8 on "Sine Mora" when it came out, and feeling pretty disappointed about it. I was pretty skeptical about this, thinking it was another stupid game with a Disney-tax. Not the case at all. Even, if you think platform gaming is boring, you'll still be blown away by all the cool Disney garb this game is cluttered with. Just get it.
When buying this app in the App Store on my Ipad 2 there is a pop-up screen which mentions: this app is not compatible with your device ( in dutch language). In the text is writen it's for Ipad 2 and up.
I've never heard of that happening. Weird. I've heard of iOS versions giving you that pop-up. At least it didn't let you buy it.
You're absolutely right! No Mickey for me. I like to mention that the Ipad 2 is not mentioned in the list of compatible devices. Although it is mentioned at the top of the text. Strange it is! My IOS version is 7.04 (latest)
