I've gone through the install process 3 times and it keeps saying "unable to install at this time" .. I've got almost 8gig spare space.. Going mad >.< Oh. It's because you need 6.1 to download, and I'm only on 6.0 Damn, ill have to update my device grrr. Stayed up til 2am for nothing. Will be tired tomorrow. Will get up super early so I can update my decide, therefore I can play mickey all day in class!
Install size is 532Mb And yes the game is short it's a remake of a fantastic Sega game & a plat former that rivals all others in design as well as creativity.
I have a hunch that this game will go on sale during this holiday season. So, I will wait until then (since Disney is rich enough and there are many more desperate indie developers).
I'm sure most likely very soon too. I bought on nostalgia and impulse. But I wasted more money last week so I said screw it lol.
I need to save my money for the holiday sale and for great releases in upcoming weeks (e.g. Room 2, Autumn Dynasty: Warlords, Republique, Shadow Sun, and many more).
First thing on this thread and first thing in the app description, "Optimized for iPhone 4S/iPad 2 and above"..........so I'm guessing it's a NO.
How is the virtual control in this game? As I recall, the original Castle of Illusion on Sega was quite difficult with its platforming, particularly near the end. I worry that the virtual control will make it near impossible to beat the game if this is a poor port...
Is this a real platformer, or another runner like Rayman ? I like runners but would like to play a regular platformer.
It is a remake port. Assuming the basic mechanics are the same, this is truly old-school platformer (remember that this game was originally made for the Sega Genesis). It is NOT an auto-runner. As in my previous post, the original game was also a VERY DIFFICULT platformer. With the virtual joystick, I worry that the fidelity in the control is simply not enough to make the game playable to completion without substantial frustration. Can someone please post impression of the game about the control? There are a lot jumps where you have to perfect time your jumps to bounce off a baddy and then onto another one in mid air.
Ok $10 is a lot but this game on the Master System was an old favourite, so I'm giving it a good think about buying it. Maybe I'll add it to the TA app and wait for a price cut.
It runs great on an iphone 4s. The default controls are a floating joystick and "tap right side of screen" to jump. There is a very small button for throwing collected apples. The only frustration I've had so far is accidentally throwing apples when trying to jump. This is definitely worth the price. The environments are really astonishing and I can see myself playing this more than Sonic or Swordigo.
