Is this still, at heart, an educational game like the old ones? I'm worried that the old days of looking stuff up in an almanac have been replaced by brain dead mini-games... Can anyone give impressions on whether that is true or false?
Target age 10-14 so let's add IAPs for the kids. I can't support this shite sorry I liked it back in the day but maybe this is something that should've stayed back in the day instead of being brought back from the dead only to become a reanimated piece of shite.
Anyone who was hoping for a grown-up game, or original educational experience here, and you're bummed it isn't, check out a game called Bloodlines: The Alexa Holmes Chronicles. It's made in a very similar fashion to Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego, but it revolves around Sherlock Holmes' descendant and vampires. It's supposed to be a little more scary and exciting. And for me, it's a home run. But I'm the biggest Sherlock Holmes fan I know.
Thanks I too love Sherlock Holmes and you just used his name and vampires in the same sentence so I'm sold thanks!
Bummer... I remember the game or series and to hear that the first mission out of three took 10 mins to complete makes thus worthless! 3 missions for $1.99 with additional ones at $1.99 as IAP? Why my charge premium and provide iap for extra content that truly adds a lot to the game? Ace attorney was a better system with their iap and longer game
They should've just ported Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? Man I loved that game. And if I remember correctly the puzzles were pretty challenging for a kids game. You had to figure out how to use an abacus.
Seriously, thanks so much for the tip! I have adored SH since I was a little girl, so this is a must-have for me. And vampires, yay!
Wish I had read the forum before blindly buying the game. Screw them milking my nostalgia for cash with a game like this.
