I love how the mood in this thread of constant complaints and arguments about dumb stuff to super happy. Guess it was the update all along. I started a new game for the update. Drop rates of rares are better, right? I've been trying to keep a record of them this time, which I'll post once I'm closer to done.
Hooray, hero party! The heroes that drop from the algebraic chests are BMO, Lumpy, Lemongrab, Ricardio, Hunson, Gunter and Ash. Which are the best of these? Here's the obvious thoughts: 1. BMO. +2 magic (3 turns). Better version of Finn. Good voicing too. 2. Lumpy Space Princess. Fully heal Blue Plains creatures (3 moves). Better than Princess Bubblegum for Blue Plains set. Good voice acting. Sadly, I never used this character. 3. Earl of Lemongrab. -1 magic to all creature summons (3 turns). Best voice acting. Why is Lemongrab not an opponent more than once? He even has unique music. This special ability is unique too, but I found that I usually did not have many 1 or 2 magic creatures on round 4 or 5. So I never found it good. Played him just for the voice acting though. 4. Ricardio. Draw 1 card (3 turns). A worse version of Flame Princess. Also no voice acting so why even bother ever playing this character. My condolences if you get this one. 5. Hunson Abadeer. -1 magic to all cards (4 turns). Cool like Lemongrab, but since no voice acting I never got around to really using him. 6. Gunter. Recover 1 spell (3 turns). Great special if you have 4 landscapes and Witch Way's, since it's effectively +4 magic or recover 1 spell. But no voice acting. Why. It just needs one generic Gunter quack pretty much and it will have full voice acting. Don't even need a voice actor to do custom phrases. 7. Ash. Recover 1 card (4 turns). Good special, but no voice acting. Also, does anyone ever watch adventure time? Ash was in like one episode where Marceline permanently breaks up with him. Out with Ash, in with evil Peppermint Butler. All in all, they should add more voice actors and playable characters. Do other people care as much as me about the voice acting? According to some other forums, there are skeletons of several characters with hero abilities, including Peppermint Butler. If you add them they appear as Hudson though, but the hero abilities work. They should add these characters. Edit: bolder character names.
Who all those character cards??? Screw this time to update. How long did it take you to get all those? Meaning how much am I going to have to spend? Honestly I want character cards the most. My favorites in the show are BMO, Gunter, Lemongrab and Ice King
hahahaha from 8 mill I've gotten heaps of beyond 3-stars... spirit torch, sandwitch, 2 detective sallys, cave of solitude, porcelain guardian (MORE AR CARDS?!), 2 thrones of gloom, and 3 dark portals too
all cards you can obtain in battle or crafting..... yet no one has gotten cards you can't get from battle or crafting...
Admittedly, I just "cheated" and added them to my save file. I could share how to do this but maybe it's against forum rules, so anyone who wants the details can PM me. The fact that they only come from Algebraic chests from gems make them prohibitively expensive to collect. Or do they drop from high level quests too? Anyone know? It would be cool if they added a saves system, like 3 game slots, where gem purchases and Algebraic heroes and max inventory slots etc transfer between saves. Then people could play a new game+ and collect more heroes, inventory, etc. etc. after they beat it the first time. Does anyone else support this idea? Also, on the note of these characters, a lot of them become underpowered later in the game. In the beginning +1 ATK is meaningful. Later on, it is useless. The hero powers don't do enough to affect gameplay in interesting ways IMO. Maybe after level 10 or whatevs hero abilities could scale up a level and become more math, like fewer turns, multiple effects, or stronger effects? That would be cool, especially if there's a content update around the corner. I'd like to see the game be more, as Jake said, "super complicated" and this is one way it could be made better.
BMO and Gunter have great hero abilities, and all but Gunter have great voice acting. They are my favourites, plus Flame Princess. I think you get Ice King at the end of the game by beating him.
Yes they do Gunter has the most impactful ability BMO is great as well. I understand why a lot of people like Dr. Donut but I have never used him.
Thanks for the tips guys. I was finally able to get the heroes I wanted. Gunter oddly was the last one to appear (and the one I wanted most). Ash takes one more turn and can take any discard pile item. Is that better? I do wish Gunter had his voice So he resummons a spell card? I would assume reviving monsters would be more important than reviving spells. I guess at the moment I don't have any ridiculously awesome spell cars. However I do have one really good spell card. "Door of Strength". The opponent can't summon creatures next turn. That's a great way to get rid of the opponent defenses.
The option to go for spells is useful. One way ash is good is if you are doing 4 different landscapes and have Witch Way (+4 magic). So you could recover a much needed creature for a specific landscape OR this or some other spell.
So I've noticed the amount of comments here and I'd thought about the game when it was first released. How good is the game for someone that has no idea what adventure time is but likes card games.
Notable cards I've received from Cool chests: Dark Angel Mama Spider Sandwitch The Pickler Travellin' Wizard Green Mermaid Sandfoot x 2 Wizard Rawk Dark Portal x 2 Falling Star x 2 Cave of Solitude
