Later on the game is dropping good chest like crazy. I got a 4 star chest and a 5 star chest on the same level. I'm pretty sure that the AI is more likely to drop a good chest when you're loosing. Anyways, if you're still around Jdub, I found a few more drops. Level 52: (R) Hot Dog Rain *** Level 53: (R) Hot Dog Rain *** Level 57: (R) Ghost Ninja *** Level 58: (V) Unempty Coffin **** Level 73: (U) Porcelain Guardian ***** Here's a screenshot of Hot Dog Rain ----////----- @kff_ricci I think this is an error with the card text
Hey thanks for the welcome. it's fun to talk to everyone and be able to make changes based on what people are thinking. We will keep balancing IAP and I think we need to try to make some changes in terms of spending gems and getting weak cards. I'll look into that this week. That's the opposite of fun. Which is not what we are going for. The landscape glitch is interesting, we haven't seen or heard about that one before, so well put QA on that one. Thank you. Ricci
This game is honestly amazing. Been a fan of the show for a while and when I watched the episode, I thought a game would be pretty awesome. Then this came out, and I am hooked. I've even spent a few bucks on chests/inventory as well, and money well spent it was. The only thing that is a minor problem is the timer, but I don't mind putting it down to take a break. One more thing, I've also had a repeat in the Algebraic Chest. I got the Cow card twice, and I didn't mind it the second time around. But I got it a third time and I have no use for the third one. It'd be cool to have a way around that. Overall, a great game and would definitely recommend it to anyone, AT fan or not
Game Impressions Ricci Here are the major flaws of the game preventing people from truly enjoying the game, and continue to enjoy the game after finishing it, and each point I will give the reason why. 1. Not sure on other device, iphone 5 card drops from treasure chest are mostly the same cards over and over again, because of this, crafting card function is almost useless. I am on level 59 with most levels completed on 3 stars. Very few cards I am able craft out of 55 craft-able card. I try to repeat few levels and mine the cards, but very very little success and I give up. At current stage, it is way too hard to get different cards to try crafting or use them for playing. 2. It is best for each level/star to beat show what card you can get is up front guaranteed or with odds %, and odd % go up by repeating the levels. Then the game is more fun to play to collect all cards you want for playing and/or crafting. 3. If you really into IAP, then you need to show each card and how many gem/coin you need to use to buy. Without ability to get many cards, the game is not fun because you cannot try different strategies by using different combination of cards. That defeat the purpose of any CCG, which is collect a lot of different cards and play against others. Speaking of playing against others, after you finish all levels, then it is done, kinda like driving and enjoying yourself and all the sudden the car break down. You need multi-player and ability to collect a lot of different cards to make this game fun and play longer! Just my 2 cents.
@shcngzb, check out this link. http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1125980/card-wars-mobile-guide/page/1 ^^ It's a list of what cards are dropped on the different levels. At the bottom of the first page a guy named Tony gives some good tips for grinding drops. . . He basically explains that you can get a max of 3 chests per level. Let's say the first guy you attack drops gold or a chest, the other guys will never drop anything that turn. You can whiff an attack by just letting the wheel spin. . . . With enough whiffed attacks and grinding you can get the cards you need, but it can take a lot of time/gold/cards to craft something awesome. . . .
I got a lot of chests, lots! But most of them are the same cards, even 2 and 3 star chests. I sold countless of the same ones. It is not fun to grind with such low probabilities. I tried, I didn't like the experience at all! It is not like constructing the deck you want and try, it is mindless grinding, and too much of it! There is no other way to collect cards other than buy random card for $1 each, not really my options.
What are the best cards in the game? I assume they have been posted or talked about already so a link will do if anyone is happy to humour me
Tried that link... Not accurate IMHO. I tried repeating the levels and the loot is different. I am starting to think the iPhone game is different from playing using iPad though. Getting a lot of the SAME loot over and over; 3 Heavenly Gazers in one battle? Something wrong here. Sometimes 2 spells (SAME spells) and 1 creature. It's kinda useless to craft cards on higher levels if the base cards needed aren't even dropped in a timely manner. Why drop cards you get on Level 1~10 to Level 40+ battles?
The drops are kind of like rolling dice. Most of the time (especially early in the game) you'll get a lot of 1 or 2 star cards that you don't need. . . If you keep getting the same drops it's kind of like rolling the same number on the dice. . . I agree that I would rather buy individual cards, over this "dice roll" type system. . . The dev said that they're going the tweak the timers a little, maybe they could increase the odds of drawing creatures from the 3 gem chests?
I'm hoping in the future they can also add more characters (since AT is filled with so many varieties of people). I'd love to have Gunter as a playable character
took me a full week to grind roughly 350 hearts used to obtain 64 cards to make it. TRUST ME I KNOW HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS
I had something maybe a little similar: 6 Unempty Coffins through normal playing and beating the Challenges. After some difficult wins in Quest 63 - 72 range (Hunson Abadeer through BMO) I get enough Gems for an Algebraic Chest. What do I get? Unempty Coffin #7! Had a similar situation with the Ghost Ninja card: 5 through normal playing and then an Algebraic Chest gives a 6th. I know random is random, but it's kinda painful for that to happen. Maybe those spare Coffins can be used in crafting? I don't know; I'm still progressing through (just beat BMO quest 73), but it's sad to see that even their sell value is only 20 coins... Overall, the game is good and I'm enjoying it fairly well. The animations and aesthetics are absolutely wonderful and completely what I'd expect an Adventure Time game to look like. It just kinda feels like the balance (be it card drops, power of cards compared to their rarity level, and even some of the "Don't Lose X HP!" challenges) could use a little tweaking, but I'd like to see how the next update handles that before commenting further.
Thanks for the advice. I just erased the game on my iPhone and gonna start over. If I see the same pattern of lousy drops compared to my game on the iPad I'll just stick to that game. The iPad game has great drops. I just couldn't grind any higher than level 50 on the iPhone with such bad luck.
I have been looking for an active forum since downloading the game. I beat CW 10 or so days ago and have seriously aide topics and threads everywhere!!!! This is the first place I have seen people talking. I'm ecstatic I found people talking about the game! I really need to go back and read and see what everyone is talking about. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
Have you guys noticed there are two different versions of the bubblegum butt spell card in the game? One that allows you to draw 3 cards and the other allows you to draw 9 cards. They both cost 5 points to use but the version that allows you to draw 9 cards can be sold for 300 coins instead of the 100 coins the other card can be sold for.
Also any hero card that is not achievable through regular gameplay can be obtained from the algebraic chest. They are considered algebraic rare cards and while it is cool to be able to obtain them it's a little bit of a let down when your hoping to get an algebraic creature. I wish you could purchace the hero cards wih coins and only be able to get playable cards from the chests.
Welcome to the forum. I beat the game 2 or 3 days ago too. Those last few levels were crazy hard. I think I basically just got lucky . . . What kind of decks do you like? I've been using a 18 card deck with 16 creature. (Sandy/Rainbow). Yeah, same here. I didn't open many 3 gem chests, and I wish I could just buy/craft those hero cards. I hate not having them, but I want to use the rest of my gems on inventory. I haven't seen any "draw 9" bubblegum butt cards. That could actually open up some more strategies. . . With 2 or 3 of those in your deck, you could safely build a bigger deck. It seems like Sand and Corn are a little overpowered (for now). And that really limits the types of decks you should build to get through the campaign. Now that I'm done with that, I may try to make some weaker decks just for fun.
