I just reached level 47 and my game froze when BMO activated field of nightmares. I thought this was already fixed because I am using version 1.01 on a IPhone 5

Thanks Kirenx :D I appreciate the link.

No problem :) . The only other thing I would mention to guys is: One time the AI played a 0/18, and then played a card that switches the attack and defense stats. . . Which killed his own creature.

So, I'm playing as Hunson Aberdeen and he doesn't actually have any lines. He's completely mute. But supposedly he talks in the show. Glitch, ran out of budget, or intentional?

They definitely need to fix some of the characters.

    Jake
(3 Turns) All your Corn creatures gain +1 Attack.

    Marceline
(3 Turns) All of your creatures gain +1 Attack.

No reason to ever use Jake over Marceline (unless you have to switch because you can't play against the same character). Also no reason to use Finn over BMO. They have the same effect yet BMO takes one less turn to use it. Dr. Donut is clearly the strongest character. So strong there is no reason to use anyone else unless you have a very specific deck like Nicelands and you want to use Princess Bubblegum or Lady Rainicorn.

As far as the first turn goes maybe both players can't attack for one turn. Or do like the physical game where both creatures deal damage to each other at the same time.

Not a glitch, didn't run out of budget, it was more that he was a last minute addition as we found that we could add characters rather quickly. Ideally we want to keep adding characters and go in and out of getting dialogue, etc. recorded. So more of a time, planning thing. The consensus was it was cooler to have him in - even if mute ;)

This is fixed in 1.02 which we are waiting to be approved and put up on the app store.

I thought you could use it as a burn deck. Just a bunch of high defense creatures and keep them alive to block damage and wait till your opponent runs out of cards and they take damage. But I don't think the computer opponents run out of cards. And even then you would have to be at a higher level to be able to have more cards in your deck. But I've seen some high attack Niceland creatures but they are all high rarity. I have no clue how you use a Niceland deck without them.

It's hard to find what this game balanced should be. You need high attack creatures because you can level up to 100+ life points (not even sure if there is a cap?). The game would take forever without them. The problem though is you can pull them out of packs right away when you facing characters with 20 life points. On the other hand they cost more points to play which means leaving lanes open. You need a good balance between high attack creatures and low cost ones to block damage and play in empty lanes sometimes to get a hit and cover a lane. It would be interesting to see how the game would be played with two people playing against each other with decks built from a pool of all cards. Even then the game balance scales based on players life points. If they do multiplayer they will have to set the life points at a certain number. But it can't be too low because you have 20+ attack creatures in the game.

Most of them aren't worth using again unless your trying to use some crazy strategy. It seems the common ones are more basic. But these two seem very good:

    Very Rare Card

    Sand Sphinx - 1
Creature in this lane takes 5 less Damage when attacked.

    Algebraic Card

    School House - 2
Your creature in this lane gains 3 Defense when a Floop ability is used.

Unless your trying specific strategy I don't see why you wouldn't use anyone but Dr. Donut. These two might give him a run for his money though:

    Earl of Lemongrab
(3 Turns) All creatures summoned this turn cost 1 less Magic Point.

    Hunson Abadeer
(4 Turns) All cards cast this turn cost 1 less magic point.

Again it's just hard to tell what is viable or not because there are so many factors to this game (ex: like life points that aren't the same). It's a shame most of the characters are useless unless you really just want to use a certain character.

Like buildings a lot of them seem worthless. There seems like there could be some cool strategies with some of the cards, like a deck that plays a bunch of spells and creatures to gain a bunch of magic points in one turn and play a bunch of high cost creatures. But even if you had access to every card that type of deck doesn't seem viable, which is a shame because I think the game could be really fun with decks like that.

I still have my issues with those timers (and the occassional save scare) but if we ignore those, props to the Developer. I personally believe this is the best Adventure Time game out right now, on any system. It's completely polished and there's so many different creatures. It'd be my favorite card game if there was no timer system at all.

I do hope in the future you could add a card collection page which would be great to look at but also keep people playing. As of now, you can't tell what you're missing unless someone names a card you've never heard of. I think adding this in will also help people play longer / give you more money because they'll wanna "catch em all." If you don't want to reveal the cards and keep them a secret you can put question marks for missing cards and only identify if it's a monster / spell / building card. I think it'd be a great addition.

And thanks for visiting the boards!

In addition to this, one thing that a lot of collectable games do that would be a HUGE help in Card Wars, is show which cards are unlocked in which stage on the map. As it is, I have to check on the BGG list to see which stage I need to grind for a specific card for crafting. It would simply make life easier if that information was in-game.

Hahahahaha, thanks for the humourus reply after my rant. I did not refund the game, because (as I said before) - the game itself is superb. I am just running around with a switched-to-English-iPhone since 1,5 weeks. ;)
Really looking forward to the German update!

Btw., German "brusts" (Brüste) aren't bad at all. ;)

    *facepalm*

Or you could just forward your devices settings and ignore the timers all together...

Where did you hear there was a super hug card?

This is part of the reason why I hope there a card collection list (even if it's just black shapes and question marks), so we can find what's missing and what isn't.

The Super Hug card is needed for several crafting recipes, but I have yet to see it drop.

We had a crazy awesome conversation about the timers today - i don't want to reveal too much, but some people will be happier, and some people will never be happy. Haha. But we will still try to make them so.

The suggestion of a card Collection page is a great one. Id like us to try and do something like that. I think the Card Box is a 1.0 and needs to get better and more useful. That suggestion seems to be in the right direction.

Oh and thanks for the kind words about the game - we worked really hard on it. Some things are out of our control, some things aren't - but its nice to hear the work is appreciated. We have a lot more stuff to come. . .

This is a tougher one, since I think part of the design team would say that part of the fun is figuring out where they are unlocked (that being said, eventually it all gets posted somewhere on the internets)

That said - Ill investigate this more.

Level 75 when Ash plays Card of Fresh Breath the game just shuts off.

Also I think a mulligan for your opening hand would be a nice idea.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean for the card drops to be shown right away. Rather, after you have played through a stage and gotten a particular card drop, that specific drop would now be shown when you select that stage on the map. A lot of collectable games do this, and it simply saves the effort of having to have everything written out.

So I bought this game today and the simple fact that I am posting here again should be credit enough to the developer since I got tired of iOS gaming about two years ago. Brilliant, brilliant game! I am so amazed with the gameplay and all the little nods to the Adventure Time fandom. New strategy elements are becoming apparent to me with every new battle and I really enjoyed the difficulty spike when I learned I could turn off the wheel.

I noticed a developer was popping by here, so I thought I'd post about a few glitches I've encountered as well:

1). The saving glitch. I lost my first hour and a half to the game not saving. I have not encountered this since, but I keep closing the game after every battle just to make sure I don't lose too much progress should thunder strike again.
2). Double flooping. Apparently tapping twice really fast when saying Yes to activating a floop makes it go off double. This even put me at -1 Energy when using a 3 MP floop, and the winnings from it came off as rather broken. It doesn't break the game, but a glitch is a glitch. It keeps me aware how easily I can cheat and I don't like it. :p

Also, as probably everyone has written already: Multiplayer would be pretty darn tootin' sweet. It could be done like the Pokémon games by evening out all levelling while playing against someone, so it wouldn't all come down to playtime.

I also have comments on the IAP system. I for one am not too bothered by having my game sessions cut short after a while. Too me that's just a signal I need a break anyway. But since I'm guessing the developer wants to make some money out of the deal - to keep developing or just to live off, I don't know - here's my suggestion: The games that have gotten me to pay more post-purchase have not been the ones that charge me to get the game to play faster. The ones I've gladly put more money into have been the ones that offer a proportionate amount of extra content. In this game, that could be for an example an expansion pack for a 2.0 kind of update: New nodes on the map, new characters, new sets of cards and in general stuff that wasn't already available. After I finish off the current campaign mode, I'll probably be more than willing to pay an additional 4$ to extend the experience. I personally think the revenue would be greater in the end if players were to get stuff rather than time for their money.

This game is already great! Some balance tweeks and some bug fixes, some additions and improvements and it can go the distance.

JDub, I found a drop to add to your list. (Thanks for making that btw :) )

Level 46: Corn Parthenon ****Very Rare Card
It's a rainbow building. Cost 2 magic points to cast, and reads "Creature in this lane gets +1 Attack for each different landscape on the field."
