I'm pretty sure it's just the usual adventure time music you should be able to find it anywhere, I've heard it in the cartoon before.

A little off topic but was anybody able to get the physical cards today? Was wondering what they were like and what the surprise codes for the game actually do?

I've looked all around the game and cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the coins collected are used for. Seems like all items are bought with gems as currency. What are the coins for? Any help?

The coins are used to craft cards or blend two cards into one basically. Later on in the game it's a helpful feature! P. s. If you didn't know three starring a lvl gets you a free gem

After I switched my device to English and re-installed the game, everything was understandable. This is, in fact, a nice game. Like in "really nice". I don't get annoyed by the timers, 'cause Eli was right: this is designed for the gamer with a spare hour, or two, per gaming session.

Personally, I would rather you reserve your judgement till you hit mid/late game. Its understandable you won't notice earlier (however I did) because of the heart cost but it gets noticeable easily later. And if you're just a guy who doesn't care about extras and plows straight through campaign then it might be easier to forget timers but if you do any of the extra missions you'll run out of timers fast. Levels vary in heart cost so not everything is 1 heart. Keep in mind that failing nets you nothing as well. However if it's still not a problem then props to you!

I am now around 5 or 6 hours into the game and the levels cost more hearts to start. Whenever I pick up my device, I try beating the challenges of a former level, then moving on to the next levels. But I try finishing everything, because you get a gem for a 3-starred level. There was one occassion when I had to wait (because I needed to retry a level), so I played 2 rounds of Threes! in the meantime and Lego with my son. So, no problem at all here.

Managed to squeeze past the bug at level 48 and am now at level 63. Current observations:

    1. I don't really see how the later challenges that require all Nice Land's creatures are possible. Even with a bunch of 2 star and 3 star Nice Land's creatures, their average attack is so low you can't push for board control, which is what wins games. It would have been nice if spells and buildings didn't count as cards you can't use in those challenges.

    2. The earlier stages allow continuous linear play, as the max timer would have exactly enough hearts to do all three stages, the final stage refreshing the timer. That changes as you progress to where you can only do the first 2 stages in every section.

    3. The creatures used later are crazy, like 20/20 stats and abilities that essentially win matches when used. 2 Star creatures become useless except to stall, as the balance is again wonky and you need to replace everything with 3 Star and 4 Star monsters.

    4. The 3 Star chests seem broken. I've opened 8 and got 3 of the same creature and 5 of the same spell. This has been over the course of several different opponents.

    5. No idea why, but the 3 Star and above buildings seem to all be far worse than the 2 Star buildings.

    6. The later heroes are all really weak as well, I have yet to see a hero better than Dr. Donut. In addition, it's such a grind to level up a new hero when you are higher level, it hardly seems worth trying other heroes. You will always need a second hero at a decent level though, as you can't pit a hero against him/herself.

    7. Spells, like buildings, seem to get worse as they go up in rarity.

Overall I really had to grind the lower levels for gems to get my deck to the point I could progress. Unfortunately, as you complete the lower level challenges, you find yourself against challenges that take a lot out of your timer-heart bar, and often are pretty much unpassable without a significant quantity of higher-end cards of a specific faction. This means the game comes to a grinding halt while you chip away at attempts to get just one more gem to reach the three needed, or try the next story stage in the hopes the AI doesn't do 38+ damage on their first turn and wipe your board clear soon after. Obviously not something people play a stage or two a day will run into anytime soon, but certainly a long-term issue for some, and a short-term one for others.

Wow that's a bit uncalled for isn't it  I'm pretty sure I'm loving the game as much as Vovin and it seems I'm probably playing a similar way to them,
I'm only playing a battle or two every now and then so I'm only upto bubblegum princess but I'd certainly say its worth the £2.49 in its current state.
I'm a big adventure time fan so appreciate the game, can't really comment on those like yourself who are wanting to play this for extended sessions or for how it plays later in the game and to be honest I'll probably not finish it anyway but even for what I've already played I'd say I've had my money's worth out of it.

Clearly stating you'd be happy to pay 9.99 for it means nothing because the game isn't that much and it would probably hurt the game if it was that much as I'm sure the majority of the adventure time audience are children who are much more likely to buy or be bought the game if it's at a lower price.

I'm not sure how this argument about a timer can go on for pages:confused: this isn't the first game with one and won't be the last, this kind of model makes money and at the end of the day that's what the company's want, our money.

Can't say if it is on every system, but on my run using Ipad Air, when AI BMO uses Field of Nightmares (a crummy spell), the game freezes.

Sounds like it was working correctly. After all it is called "Field of Nightmares" :p

No, the IOS game is completely separate from the physical game other than the art and some layout choices. It is designed for single player and not balanced in a way that would make multiplayer viable.

Ok, that was the first episode of adventure time I've ever watched and I was dying. I've still been sitting firmly on the fence due to the timers, but I really may jump in now just because I got such a kick out of the episode. Thanks for the link!

Definitely would be nice to have the timer at least eased up on. The later stages require upwards of 14 hearts for a try and the AI is using almost all 3 star and up creatures. It can be pretty frustrating when you can't even have a second go at a particularly tough level.

I'm off the fence and buying. As someone who typically enjoys card games, would you recommend playing without the battle wheel?

If you are even half-decent at card games you will want to play without the battle wheel. The simple fact is, the only thing it does is gives the human player a massive advantage against the AI. If feels weird to me playing a versus card game in which one side would have such handicap, especially one so separated from the actual game mechanics.

I agree, I only played the first tutorial battle with the wheel on and then turned it off, I like card games and his isn't very complicated I'd say using the battle mode would be like playing on easy or beginner and without would be normal.

I really want to turn off the wheel but I can't because of how much wasted timer I will get from losing a lot more often :\ Eh oh well.
