Sometimes devs are told by Apple to keep release dates a secret. Which seems dumb to me, but if I ran Apple, things would be a lot different, too. Unrelated to all this, something odd is going on with releases in the next week or so. Like, I've heard of games releasing on odd days, and maybe this is part of it too...
May be it is good cause in the past few weeks there are so many great things arrive. Indigestion is no fun. No worry, my $$$ is ready for you.
Now, I don't know anything about when Card Thief is releasing. But I will say that Apple's got a big promo running March 9-20: http://toucharcade.com/2017/03/09/apple-celebrating-indie-games-promotion/ And some devs have already announced new games releasing in that time frame on weird days. And I know of at least one game that's got a release scheduled for that timeframe that will likely be a surprise on a weird day. So I don't know anything about Card Thief's release, and I'm not just playing coy here, but I'd bet that it would pop up suddenly one day in the next week or so...
Thanks Carter for clearing things up. We are indeed one of those devs that will release on an odd date and are also in this indie promo thing. So we'll release within this promotion time frame, but as said already we are not allowed to announce the exact date. I know it's kinda shitty and i would have loved to tell you when we release but as a sane dev you don't throw away such a big opportunity to get a huge promotion from Apple. So all i can say is just a few more days .
We understand, we just don't like it This is a great promotional opportunity and high quality premium games deserve the spotlight. Hopefully people will learn there are great games that aren't free loaded with $30,000 in IAP. In the meantime I've been reading through the blog on http://cardthiefgame.tumblr.com/ trying to learn the game mechanics. Best of luck!
We will launch on Android a month after iOS. As i'm only one guy to support all the players i try to reduce the madness a bit with the later android release.
Oh this is so typical of greedy indie developers these days. All they want are free promotions and bugger the gamer. We are all expected to wait an extra few days so this developer might be able to get a few more sales for himself. I am disgusted. I think we should all ban this capitalist as from now! And if any of you think I am being serious I will personally come around to your place and clog up your toilet. #
I am glad to see Apple promoting this game. I played Card Crawl until I had to quit. Not because I ever got bored, it was due to the fact that I was amassing a huge backlog of games because Card Crawl consumed so much of my time! Really looking forward to Card Thief!!
Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Card crawl was really good, but Card Thief is an outstanding game. It was a pleasure to beta test. Everyone's going to be raving about it soon. Still think it might be the TA Game of 2017.
@Tinytouchtales This game made me log into TA for the first time in forever just to add my support. Dungeon Raid and Card Crawl are two of my staples for slow days at work. Card Thief sounds and looks like it's gonna be a slick replacement/complement to both. Good luck, looking forward to it!!
