@esty8nine we're a bit behind schedule right now, due to various things, but we will try to pick up pace again this month. Here's a new teaser image with some equipment cards. Pick your tools: Cloak, Black Jack, Numbing Poison.
Hi there, here's another quick update. We are still busy integrating the final card designs, here you can see two new ones the Warden (a Guard holding a Torch) and one of the 3 Trap cards.
Whats it mean?? Is that the symbol for the app when it comes out? Is that a design for the back of a card deck? If its coming out, i have $4 for the game! I hope thatll be enough
Man I cannot wait for this. Enjoying Enyo but cannot wait for this games beta (I think they started a list for testers unless my request only applied to the Enyo beta) but this is one of my most anticipated games. Great work TInyTouchTales
Here's another one for #Screenshotsaturday Pick your tools: Water Arrow, Climbing Gloves, Guild Symbol
I've got a rather silly question. I know next to nothing about solitaire or cards, generally, but that didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying Card Crawl. My question is... Will Card Thief be the same? That is, will someone who knows nothing about playing cards be able to enjoy this?
@metalcasket well good question. Short answer: I would argue that enjoying the aesthetics of playing cards is helpful but no prior knowledge is necessary since the game is quite accessible. Card Thief's design is based on cards because we wanted to stay within the same "genre" as Card Crawl, retaining all players who liked Card Crawl and would enjoy another one. You could argue that the cards just represent units that could have been "real" characters and presented differently. But then there would have been a thematic problem of units changing their stats, which wouldn't make much sense in terms of theme. This is why the abstraction layer of cards helps to communicate those mechanics easier. I think this game will be slightly harder to learn than Card Crawl because there are some new (you could say "innovative") rules in this game that maybe have not been seen in other games. We made sure the tutorial is stepping you through the different mechanics not overwhelming you, while keeping some things for discovery. If you enjoy Card Crawl you are pretty likely to enjoy this one two .
