I honestly think the amount of gold you have by the time you exit, as well as how high you got the number up on the chest...these two factors influence the ratio of insignias to trash received when you open the chest. In Beta it seemed to ring true because sometimes I would have an 8-10 chest, but very little gold and would sometimes still get 2/3 trash items...hell..iirc even 3/3 trash sometimes. But if I had high gold and high # chest, just the opposite..2/3 or 3/3 insignia. Also, I remember dev saying the useless treasure would eventually serve some purpose in the launch version, but that was all I've ever heard about them.
I'm at appoint Sherri only have like 2 stealth. And it only lets me path to one other card. It's obvious I think I'm gonna get caught but I can only select 1 card and I can't progress. Do I have to restart? I'm confused.
The goal is kinda like Card Crawl you need to eliminate cards, capture gold, and stay alive at the same time. But no, the mechanism is very different and the best I can think of is like playing the 3D game Thief (1 & 2) using cards only.
Sorry for being too lazy to return to tutorial. Why am I some time able to knock out guard without lowering my stealth point?
Guards face a specific direction, indicated by an arrow/flashlight-like symbol. If you come from the exact opposite direction it won't use stealth.
I love when you get 10 stealth back again using hide or wiping out the board. The masque animation comes on your character card and makes an errie victory type sound. Amazing this game.
So, I have Card Crawl, and I like it well enough, but it was never a game I felt compelled to play over and over, as it is for some. Only played a couple games of this, and have little clue what I'm doing so far, but I already find it much more engaging than Card Crawl. I do wish it had landscape. I'd play it more for sure.
Replayability on high here. Figuring out the game is half the fun for me. Even though it's all explained in detail with the tutorial I seem to always skip over those parts so it's harder for me starting off but that was by choice. Strategy goes along way for this one.
Wow good luck there. Missing even the tiniest detail in the tutorial can screw a whole round in this game. I read it 3 times and still there are so many details that i read it over an over again.
During beta testing, I noticed that my strategy evolved as I played more. Especially maximising the use of light and dark. And not going straight to the exit when it's available, unless you need to. I played lots of games, then watched the tutorials again.
Sometimes when you clear a card in front of where a guard is facing he will move there, then sometimes they just don't, what determines that ?
I haven't brought the release version yet (I will)...but on the final beta version, as you draw your path an arrow appears on the guards showing which way they will move.
Two game with negative stealth, top row all torches, mid row all guards, and bottom ( chest, exit, me). Can only go one card before blocked and can't do anything else. A message saying game over would be nice.
