I finally got around to buying this, and I love it! In many ways to me it feels like the Dungeon Raid of card games. I would like it to be optimized for my XR screen and there could be a better layout with increases card sizes but since the game is very dark you don’t even really notice the side black borders. Great game!
Just a heads up that the game is on sale. I think I will finally give it a go, though the reason I hadn’t already bought it was because I get the feeling the difficulty is high as well as the RNG and those two combined usually just end up frustrating the heck outa me.
The difficulty is high, yes. But the RNG is really no different to any of the other great and done right card rogues like StS or Dream Quest. This game really is just another great card rogue that’s markedly different than all the others with nothing quite like it. It’s definitely worth the pick up at this price. You’ll love it. Just know it’s not optimised for newer devices but still works fine all the same.
Hey guys, since Slay the Spire got delayed. Is this worth picking up now? Using an iPhone X. Going home for holidays where I won’t have access to a PC/console or a proper wifi. Thanks.
Yes 100% it is. IMO of course. It’s a very tight playing rogue deck builder. Note that it plays differently to STS in that you build your deck in blocks of guards (represented by weapons and armour etc). But this allows the devs to have made a tight game by have a finite number of deck compositions available. The chain mechanic is also unique to this game and encourages synergistic gameplay. just be aware that the font in this game is basically terrible and the app is not optimised for the X screen. Check out screen shots to consider this.
Cool. Thanks a lot for the info. Yeah. Those are the only things that are holding me off. The fact that it’s not optimised for my phone and the small text size. And doesn’t look like the game is ever gonna get any updates.
It just have been re released by another publisher... mmmmmmmmm I wonder if it’s now full screen... Tempted to buy it again, if now it means it’ll get some love and updates...
