Pagan Fox Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2012 476 32 28 #3 Pagan Fox, Mar 14, 2015 First imps....Have played through the tutorial and it is or seems a very polished game. The underlying formula takes from Puzzle & Dragons but there is enough difference to allow you to enjoy this as a separate entity. The initial facebook logon was a turn off but you can play as a guest. You have various creatures with their own decks of cards and also the ability for some amazing combos, so there is a depth to the game. There is a premium currency called dragon stones via IAP which allows the purchase of gold eggs, ie. Rare creatures, which have better stats and cards. So far I have received one gold egg after completing tutorial so I'm hoping you can grind for more.....and yes, there is stamina as well.....which gets used up per battle. Not sure how far I will get before hitting a wall. We shall see. forsakenxe Well-Known Member Oct 23, 2014 709 0 16 #4 forsakenxe, Mar 14, 2015 Please Keep posting how it goes touchy85 Well-Known Member Jan 21, 2015 1,616 1 38 #5 touchy85, Mar 14, 2015 Game Impressions Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,597 368 83 #6 Talbs, Mar 14, 2015 Downloaded it and gave it half an hour or so. It's actually not bad. Has a mechanic to it that I don't think we've seen before. Unfortunately it does scream freemium but just how much I haven't determined yet. The mechanic that this employs means that (at least upon getting familiar with the game), there's quite a bit to consider each turn. Just even attacking with a particular unit determines the card draw pool that you draw from. Don't like the Facebook or guest login as mentioned pagan Pagan Fox Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2012 476 32 28 #7 Pagan Fox, Mar 14, 2015 Well I haven't had much more time on it but the few more games I played I have thoroughly enjoyed. There is a great depth to this and the decks and creatures you can amass. There is full deck building and editing, power ups of creatures and fusion as well for increasing levels. Creature eggs can drop after defeating a creature and I managed to get a gold (rare) one just now. The stamina timer has not been an issue so far but I've only played a couple of hours. So far not bad at all. Hope this helps PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,372 163 63 Southern CA #8 PBSNellie, Mar 14, 2015 Last edited: Mar 14, 2015 Kung Fu is the same dev group behind Card Wars: Adventure Time, which is my favorite card game. So I have great expectations for this one. So far, Im not disappointed. It looks to be a deep game. I think eventually I will log in to FB just to preserve my progress when I goes worldwide. Edited to say: OK, well I've been playing this most of the afternoon. Nuff said. bolony Well-Known Member Mar 20, 2014 48 0 0 #9 bolony, Mar 15, 2015 Game is broken for me. I was able to complete the tutorial battle but that's it. The 2nd battle always seems to let the opponent go first. Problem is, she doesn't do anything. I have a "go" button but it tells me to summon a monster first. I have 0 energy so I can't summon. I've tried quitting and restarting the game. I used up the 4 remaining stamina I had left and it's the same each time. Just curious since Card Wars is an offline game (but is mostly a solo game). Pagan Fox Well-Known Member Jul 20, 2012 476 32 28 #11 Pagan Fox, Mar 15, 2015 It would appear to be online only. On a side note, what are people getting for their rare (gold egg)? Also, there doesn't appear to be any sort of daily log in reward which surprised me. Kirenx Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2012 774 0 0 #12 Kirenx, Mar 15, 2015 Has anyone gotten premium currency aside from what is given during the tutorial? If I have to pay for every chance at a 4+ star creature, that is going to be a major hurdle to progression. The game seems pretty polished so far, with some interesting mechanics. Many of the cards do appear pointless though compared to raw power. If I can play one red card and do 100 damage in a turn, I can't really see playing around with poison and other status effects instead. I basically use attacks cards and the occasional cleanse or immunity, even guard has become unnecessary. I have not gotten any gems or anything because I don't have any credit in the Canada store, but so far Im finding it unnecessary. Also a tip: If you level up your monsters backwards (sacrifice a higher level to level up a lower one) it greatly increases the stats to the monster. PBSNellie Well-Known Member Jul 7, 2013 1,372 163 63 Southern CA #16 PBSNellie, Mar 16, 2015 I will say, that although I really like this game, that it is quite buggy. Several times I have won an egg in a battle only to not get the egg I won (won silver, got leather or nothing at all). Also have had a few freeze issues. And sometimes code pops up out of nowhere! But the more I play this, the more I like it. I hope that a "soft launch" is code for "getting the bugs out". Also, when you get the mission to sell runes, don't do it unless you are desperate for money. You will need those later. bolony Well-Known Member Mar 20, 2014 48 0 0 #17 bolony, Mar 16, 2015 Game is buggy but it introduces a lot of new mechanics I have not seen before. Strategy and synergy of the cards looks like it can go very deep. Let's hope they get all the kinks ironed out by the time it launches globally. Anyone know if they have an official website/facebook? I tried going to the CROOZ website but all it has is a little blurb about the game.
