Oh I know all too well about the ais cheating ways on that draft game. I was getting so mad lol and its true in case anyone isnt sure. The blasted ais deck is epic. Healing every thurn, The occasional shield, pulling cards back into its deck so it never runs out while you do and slowly die from fatigue cards. Thats the only reason the game takes so long is because they hardly have atk cards because they use your inability to replenish your deck against you you kill yourself in the end lol. Cheats I tell ya! Anyways the 24 card limit I cant really comment on just about any game has a card limit so its not a new concept and I beat CCN 1 so long ago I dont remember it, at all just that I had fun with it lol. 24 seems a little low though but meh its just more thinking you have to do. Id say to anyone in general if you dont want to think you shouldnt be playing a ccg anyways its not for the lazy.
Ok took the plunge anyway. Just love the first part too much. But at least at first glance gotta say that most new introductions don't seem like improvements. Apart from the arrow mechanic and the card designs there doesn't seem to be much similiarities between the first and the second part. No more defense, neutral or revive cards (eg Fire Sword or Mecha Santa are just similar resolve cards now), 1 board instead of two and gotta say not the biggest fan of this new resolve mechanic. No idea if those chances are due to the new multiplayer. As I said I'm not too far in. At least L.Lawliett said something about healing cards so seems other card types get to be introduced later. But at first glance it doesn't seem like an improvent to its predecessor. I'd have preferred the same mechanics of the first game with some new cards and an improved AI. OK, at least only first impressions, let's see how it develops further
First game was 25-40 cards ... Seemed a little more strategic (for some opponents a smaller (attack damage) deck was better than a bigger one and vice versa)
The game just takes time getting used to. There are small improvements here and there in the overall scheme of things but the biggest difference is the way cards battle with non-conductive and resolution system. Honestly, I think if they removed the non-conductive system, this would be the perfect upgrade card system. Strategy but still fast paced. Imo the non-conductive system ruins the flow of the game, putting dead cards in the middle of the board. If all cards retained arrows, the game would be more fun and fluid. Now you have to pause constantly because of "dead" cards. In CCN dead cards were a way to attack your opponent but here most of the cards I believe turn into dead cards. The game is still top quality I just wish I could've been on a beta team so I could voice my opinions since I'm a really hardcore fan of the original. And about the card limit, it's restricting but you get over it quickly. The gameplay is really the only thing that takes time to get used to. I wish the arrows ALWAYS stayed. And then they should've focused more on being mobile friendly and increased all the font sizes and used all the empty space (you'll notice a lot of it the more you play) @dbagga: Pretty much everything you said is true. Couldn't have worded it better
I have a theory on why draft games with the AI are hard. I play a lot of popular card games and I tend to over-analyze the AI a lot because I love strategy and try and figure out my opponent. In this case I imagine draft AI COULD BE the hardest AI in the game (or one of them). Why? Because this is the only time the AI can pick cards "at random" to make their own deck. The story mode is fun and generally fair because the devs give each character their own deck. Draft mode throws all of that out, and lets the AI make any deck they want from any cards available. This, as in many other AI card games with this ability, allows the AI to just pick the best cards automatically. The AI knows heal / draw is the best possible deck in the game. You stall and heal until your opponent runs out of cards, then unless they get some incredible legendary, there's almost no way to come back once you hit 0 cards and lower health than your opponent. 4 damage per turn is too much for anyone to comeback from when you generally need 3 turns / connects to make an activation. And here's another anti-"non-conductive" speech. We would have better chances at a comeback without the non-conductive cards. Since they flood the game, you'll end up with lots of dead cards and have to rematch 3 cards again. If every card retained arrows like in CCN, the game would open up a lot more. Non-conductive just seems like a way to hinder both players and not in a good way.
Dev comment again, there's an Android update out now. If any of you are having any Android problems, try updating it now. If you get a black screen, please get in touch and let us know what phone/tablet you have and what version of Android you have on it.
Thx for your answer. I'm on iOS 11 iPhone 5s. No update available. I don't have any black screen, just an infinite first screen with the logo and the stars flowing
Holy crap I beat the draft guy! And very disappointing rewards for the difficulty. Lol I just basically picked healing, add cards, and shields, less damage cards and it worked. In a way I just used the same strategy they did. It helps when they use a lot of self hit cards too because it almost ensures whatever shield they put on themselves will be taken right off. I did make sure to bring like the key and the banana and the guy that adds potatoe cards shoot I even brought the blueprint with me. I also grabbed the wall that does 4 damage and that ghost that silences and cages a card played by the opponent.
Hi Dev, game crashes all the time during the Bunibon Arcade Minigame (never during the first two worlds, usually in world 3 or world 5) ... Everytime I'm glad finally having made it to world 5 again and hoping to have the minigame behind me soon, the game crashes to the homescreen at some point. iOS 11, iPad Pro Edit: Just hard reset the device (Home button + Power Off restart) and now the Virtual Bunibon game even crashes constantly, in every world. It's rare I can even make it to world 3 and it usually crashes then at the latest. Giving up trying, lost my patience after nearly an hour when it always ends in a crash anyway ... Hope the unique price isn't too good.
Just wanted to let you know if you had gone back to page 2 I believe of the forum and read the posts you would have known about the crash. Of course in that instance even after reading Id try at least once to be sure. I know this is coming off d*ckish and I really do not intend to sound like that, Im just trying to point out if you had read it you would have saved yourself hours of frustration and enjoyed more of the game and the other stuff it has to offer. On a side note, to the general public. I LOVE the card hacker! Lol.
I think the only issue this game has for me on a personal level is no screen rotate. You HAVE to play with your phone charging side on the left when my cord is on the right and no I cant move the cord or sit elsewhere. Besides you shouldnt have to cant really play unplugged. Drains the battery or time goes by too fast and before you know it your battery is almost dead thats the price of each game taking a few minutes to complete.
Same problem here iPhone user checking in. I'm having the same issue as previous poster, I click start and the screen stays on the globe with the intro music indefinitely. Running iOS 9.0.2 on a 6s+.
You can tell that a lot of love went into the development of this game. Cool art style. Good writing. The mechanics are solid. The scripted events on revisiting areas, the gossip, and the hidden mini-games breathe life into the environment. As a developer myself, Id blanch at the prospect of setting up this games difficulty curve, but these guys nailed it. Having AI styles that correspond to the deck and personality? You rarely see something like that. And apparently I still have 30 cards to collect, heh. Any place I can see a list of optional battles and hidden unique cards/sleeves? I want to make sure I didnt miss anything.
Infinite title screen was a Game Center issue for me I was having the same issue, turned out it was an issue with my Game Center. I logged out of GC in airplane mode, rebooted, turned off airplane and logged back in, and everything seems to be working.
You're right man, I usually always shake my head when people ask a question in a forum when it has been mentioned before (especially when more than once) - And now I've become one of them Usually I read posts before me but I was in the middle of the game, only wanted to post about the crash and continue trying/playing so in that particular instance I had no time/energy to research the crash especially as the only solution for it will be an update anyway.
Ok, played a while now and gotta say I liked the first part so much better. Imo most new mechanics aren't any improvement, rather the other way around. - I agree with L.Lawliett about the non-conductive card - I absolutely despise the 24 card limit (every card is much more important now and that makes it much more difficult to experiment around with new cards or different setups) - Most new special gold or shiny cards are useless or only help in highly specialized setups - The Bunibon minigame is extremely hard, every time I thought this has to be the last level cause of the difficulty an even more ridiculously hard level comes up - And when I finally made it to the tenth (I think, also no idea if that finally would've been the last) level of course it crashed again - frustrating - And even though the AI's smarter than in part one, now that you share a board with the opponent its still often silly moves (non-conductives add to that) often jam up so much of the playing field for both that this also sucks a lot of fun out of the game - Like most things I preferred the system out of part 1 so much more, when both had their own board. Just one man's opinion but I was a huge fan of part 1 which I played through thrice. When I heard of this successor I was really excited but that faded away quickly after I had bought it. I'm just not staying motivated when playing CCN2 - Really got to force myself to play it even for only a few rounds whilst I hardly was able to lay part 1 down. Tl;dr: The hunt for new cards isn't as interesting, the mechanics are worse and even though that most new cards are uselessly complicated or too specialized the 24 card limit still sucks.
