Battle them to win their trust - and their cards! - and progress through the dubious laboratories, haunted docks and lethal restaurants of this space station to find out its greatest mysteries. The Card Game (or TCG for short, the only card game they play in space) is played by two players on a single board. Connect your cards to give them power, and when they're all fired up they deal damage, heal, shield, or mess with your opponents cards. Since they stay on the board after they've been activated, you can keep combos alive indefinitely by stringing new cards into the chain. Playing on the same board gives you opportunity to further mess with you opponents, blocking their moves or stealing their power! With a renewed gameplay system, an all new adventure and online multiplayer, Card City Nights 2 improves on its predecessor in every way. * Adventure and Cards, together again! * Online multiplayer * 200 unique cards with characters from the Ludosity universe * Discover increasingly more unlikely locations * Still no IAP whatsoever Information Seller:Ludosity AB Genre:Adventure, Card Release:Oct 30, 2017 Updated:Oct 01, 2018 Version:1.3.1 Size:1.1 GB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (3) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #2 L.Lawliet, Nov 9, 2017 I've been checking every hour for this and it's finally here. One of my favorite card games ever. I'm not interested in multiplayer at all so I'm hoping the single player is good. FYI the game is rather large in file size compared to the original game so make sure you have room. I also hope that means a longer/bigger story mode! Well I'm off to buy it and play it. It was there to facilitate going from match to match. So go ahead and grab this. I quite enjoyed the first as well so will be buying. jsrco Well-Known Member Patreon Silver Oct 15, 2009 2,134 1 38 Coordinator Seattle https://www.Fatthunder.com #10 jsrco, Nov 9, 2017 Figured lol. Its just so much fun. Even the dialogue and banter is hysterical. It's hard to find this type of stuff, especially packaged into amazing gameplay. WILL TRADE FOOD FOR CARDS ==================== Played for about an hour, and was only repeating the second battle over and over because it was so fun (and I was getting money for deck building). This game is going to be incredible just like the first, I know it. I hope it's even better as I keep going. The gameplay changes are actually pretty substantial while keeping the core intact. I'm not sure which I like better, there's pros and cons, but the new style is slowly growing on me. I like playing on the same board so you are essentially "attacking" while you are playing. The biggest change is the "resolution" system, which I'm neutral about. Instant of instant card effects, they all have a countdown timer. I like more strategy so that seems to be the case, but it's very different from the original where you combine attack and defend cards, and the number of cards = the amount damaged or healed. It was very simple and straight forward. These mechanics in the new game take a lot more time to grow on you than the original. It's not bad but I can't say if it's better at this point. Basically the game hinges on the card effects and not necessarily matching up 3+ cards together. I really miss the old system as that was a very fast paced card system but this new one is fun to figure out and takes some timing. The one other substantial change is "non-conductive" cards. They're huge in this game and non-existent in the first. Once you activate any set of cards, a non-conductive card in that set will lose all their arrows. This changes the strategy immensely and can be fun to strategize around but it's basically made as a hindrance. Many many cards have these to the point that I wish I could petition Ludocity to actually ADD an icon for "non-conductive" cards. The text is so small and I always have to double check to see if a card is non-conductive as it can block up the board very quickly. An icon on each card would do wonders since most cards have a lot of empty space on the bottom. My only actual complaint is the UI. I think the card text is still too small that it can hurt your eyes and somehow feels even smaller than the first game's. I wish they made it more mobile friendly and filled the space. There's lots of empty space and when the text is so small you wonder why they didn't use the empty space. Also, I think deck managing could've done better with the UI, utilizing touch more. There is drag and drop to add/remove cards but the you can't use scrolling in your deck, it's just buttons. So very hit / miss on UI. It's like half of it is great then the other half is too old school analog. And again, the text is very small in deck building. They definitely should've added touch scrolling and then bigger text to fill then screen real-estate. Overall so far would be 4.5/5. Still an amazing game and I think I'm going to be playing this forever. However they clearly missed the mark on usability improvements that were sorely desired from CCN1. This feels more like a port to mobile (there's still in-game dialogue telling you to right click!) than it does an actual mobile title often times. Sidenote: I like the icon on this thread more than the full black icon on the actual app. I hope they change it back. This original catches my eye more and uses the iconic card colors from CCN. frankyberserk New Member Aug 27, 2012 3 0 0 #12 frankyberserk, Nov 9, 2017 I cant go past the first screen. Giving me headaches even on my iPad mini. Slightly larger font on cards might help. Also how can I cancel a card placement? I placed a card that had a placement power to silence a common card and because it was the only common card on the board it had to cancel itself. There was no way for me to remove and make a different place. Finally - auto-rotate. It's no longer a deep mystery of IOS; lots of games do it - would be great if this could too ;-) But all these moans aside, it's a real winner! badmanj Well-Known Member Mar 16, 2009 1,886 24 38 Software developer Reading, England http://www.underground-collective.com #18 badmanj, Nov 10, 2017 Oh and lose the reference to 'right click' in the tutorial ;-) L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #19 L.Lawliet, Nov 10, 2017 I also got that bug on the arcade mini game which crashed the game. I'm not willing to try it again since it took me about ten minutes to get there :/ And I don't really like draft mode. The idea sounded cool but it takes way too long to start a game and it's the first time I experienced the AI "cheating" to win. Basically, every time I played it, the AI would pick a deck that contains mostly heal cards, and card draw, along with some attack cards. Most often the legendary they would have is the healing banana. The issue? AI will play a long drawn out game until we both run out of cards and then since it runs a heal / draw deck, it'll almost always outlast me (whoever runs out of cards first takes 4 damage per turn). I played multiple times and the AI used the same strategy and always got the best cards to make this deck. It was infuriating to watch him heal every other turn on multiple play throughs and then always have a banana healing legendary. In any case, the game takes so long to set up in addition to that so I probably won't play draft mode anymore.
