They always stated that they will be available this fall. In three weeks, it is fall So there is not even a delay to be mad about or any other reason to be cynical...
Yeah for expansions in a few (or 3) weeks! Of course now I have to wonder how long it will be before we see the next set of expansions. Sigh.
They said the first batch would be the River II and Inns and Cathedrals. No word on what other expansions they are planning to release but they said they were laying the framework for all of them now so hopefully they don't take as long as the first two to release. Any word on pricing for the expansions yet? I'm super excited for these!
2nd round is ready to go - good luck http://gospvg.blogspot.com/2011/10/meeple-carcassonne-tournament-round-2.html
You took the words out of my mouth! I was the one to ask the, but I honestly didn't expect a response other than "Soon!" So what if it's a bit late, it's coming! Yay
Good news from twitter 'Carcassoneapp; Good news everyone! We will submit the update with the expansion store (and 2 available expansions) for review to the AppStore next week.'
Hehe.. Good old Futurama Great news.. can't wait to give them my money! This game is so damn good and polished like no other in app store! And finally.. Its about time it gets expansions.
Alas, they say they are submitting it next week, not that it will be available next week. Still, the release is upon us. I'm looking forward to it... and then to the rest of the expansions which I hope they'll get to much faster now that the system will be in place to handle it!
Can't see that happening, they seem set on their pricing. I'm interested to know how much the add-on packs will cost.
Now that the expansions seem to be coming in the very near future do we have any info in pricing of the expansions?
I think it's pretty likely, and probably a permanent drop. To get more people on board and because not only will there be these first two paid expansions, but there will be more in the future. Better to have more people with the game in that case, for potential future DLC sales. So I think it's pretty likely that a price drop will coincide with the release of the expansions. But I suppose we will just have to wait and see. I already have the game, so it doesn't matter to me.
Actually, the developers have made it very clear that not only is the price not coming down, they do not intend to have any sales either (there wasn't one in the recent batch, and they have specifically said no Christmas sale is planned either). As for the app update that includes the expansions, you're probably going to have to wait yet another week for that.
